The title

The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. They call the book"The Adventures of Tom Sawyer" because it is about what Tom has gone through in a period.

The story

Thomas Sawyer and his brother Sidney, live by aunt Polly and cousin Mary. Tom likes to eat sweat things and that is why he always gets punished when he tries to take something. His brother likes to tease Tom, when he could eat something sweats. Tom often avoids school to go fishing, swimming or just playing with his friends. Tom always finds someone to do his job for him when they punish him, by convincing them that the job is uniqueness. Tom never likes Monday because it is another week of school. At school he met Huckleberry Finn, the homeless guy. All the moms hate him cause their sons look up to him. Later Tom saw the young woman that he saw in the yard some days ago, Becky Thatcher, and they felled in love. When Tom mentioned Amy Lawrence, Becky Lawrence hated him. Later that night Tom and Huck went to the graveyard. They saw that there were three men: Old Potter, Redskin Joe and Doctor Robinson. After they did what they needed to do, Joe and Potter started to fight against the doctor. They did this because the doctor's father sent Joe to jail. Joe killed the doctor with Potter's knife and, because the doctor knocked out Potter, Potter did not know what happened and Joe lied him that he killed the doctor. Tom and Huck stated an ought that says: Huck Finn and Tom Sawyer swear that they keep their mouths shut about this and they wish that they may drop death in their tracks. The next morning the whole town knew about the incident. Potter was arrested, but denied that he killed the doctor. Tom could not sleep for days. His aunt did not understand and she gave him some medicine. Tom was good in a minute. Later Tom gave the cat some of it and the cat went wild. His aunt wondered what happened to the cat and Tom said that he was pretending to be his aunt by burning the stomach out of him. His aunt understood and asked for his forgiveness. Tom met his best friend, Joe Harper, and they played in the woods. They have the same problem; getting blamed for everything. So Tom, Joe and Huck went to play pirates. Then they stayed on a small island. Each of them brought something to eat. They stayed there for about six days. They went through many things, like a storm. The boys got homesick, but still had some fun. One day Tom went home to see how things were going. He saw both, the Sawyer family and the Harper family crying, praying and talking about them. The next day Tom had a plan; to come out when their funeral is, and so it was. Everybody was shocked. Aunt Polly said that it was the best trick which he ever pulled out. Tom was a hero at school. To ignore Becky, Tom was talking with Amy. By getting his attention Becky was inviting everyone to her picnic. Everybody was asking her to go, except Tom and Amy. Later she was talking to a boy and Tom was furious. That is when he apologized and decided that he wants to go to the picnic. Often Huck and Tom gave Potter some cigar and matches. Potter one day said that he now knows who his real friends are. The next day Potter's trial came. Potter's lawyer did not call any witnesses, except Tom Sawyer. Tom told him everything and so Potter was innocent. Joe was guilty. Joe was nowhere to be found. Like every boy Tom and Huck went to search for a treasure. They went to a haunted house. Just when they went to dig, two men came in. Tom and Huck went upstairs. Later they found out that the two men were; Joe and a strange man. The two man began to dig and found a big box. Tom overheard them saying that they are going to hide the box in number 2. The boys went to look for the treasure by the second inn. Huck stood guard while Tom tried all the keys that he got. Suddenly the door handle turned. Tom and Huck both began to run. They stopped searching for a while. After the picnic Becky and Tom stayed by widow Douglas. Joe and the other man were on their way to Douglas's house, because her husband treated Joe like a slave. They saw that the lights were on and stated that there were guests. They had no rush and waited. Huck, who was all the time behind Joe and the other man, overheard them talking and he ran to the Welshmen. He told them everything and had been promised that they would not tell anything. The Welshmen scarred the two men and the old lady thanked Huck. Becky and Tom were still missing. They were in the caves. They suffered a lot. Tom saw Joe in the caves. Later Tom and Becky were saved. The judge locked the caves. Tom then said that Joe was in there. When they unlocked the caves, they saw Joe death and later that day, Tom and Huck took the box, and they saw that there was money in the box and they put on the bank. Everybody was safe and Huck got adopted by the widow Douglas.
