In this story you follow a detective inspector called Rod Eliot, who is trying to discover the truth behind the dead of Alex Forley.
Rod Eliot finds out that Alex Forley was a wealthy man who had a nice girlfriend he also ran a antique store.
When Rod Eliot and Bowen were questioning the neighbors they hear that the place where Alex Forley lived was a nice place and that they had a good friendship with Alex.
After the questioning Rod Eliot thinks that they are hiding something but he doesn’t know what.
They decide to go to Alex Forley’s girlfriend called Amanda grand, she already heard from the neighbors that Alex died.
The Detectives ask her to come with them to identify the body, to make sure its Alex Forley.
She agrees and go with them she directly sees that its Alex Forley when she saw the fingers of him.
When they got back to the house of Amanda they hear something interesting: She said that Alex Forley was already sometime saying that he had headaches but he didn’t want to go to a doctor but a week before the death he had telephoned one, and he did go to the hospital.
Alex was checked there but she didn’t saw the results yet.
After that they went to the house of Alex Forley and they found 2000 pound sitting on hes desk so if it was murder it wasn’t for money.
In he’s house they also found a diary with was written in mixed latin and greek.
The next day the go to the doctor of Alex Forley, Philip Wilver.
Wilver knew Alex from high school, Wilver knew there was nothing wrong with Alex but Alex couldn’t stop worrying because he’s mother died from a brain tumor and he wanted to make sure he didn’t have one.
Wilver arranged some tests at the Hospital but wilver said the results said that he Alex hadn’t any diseases, he received the results in week Alex died.
Bowen found out that Alex had a secret love affair but he doesn’t know with who.
They also still don’t know where the gun came from and they question the neighbors of Alex again (Mr. and Mrs. Crowther) they find out it was their gun and they lend it to Alex because Alex was really interested in it, That was the thing the neighbors were hiding the whole time.
They find out that Mrs. Wilver had a secret love affair with Alex and that Mr.Wilver knew Philip Wilver is questioned again, and the police man ask him when he got the results of the hospital, he said Monday but he gave them to Alex on Thursday.
Philip Wilver admitted that he faked the results and said to Alex that he had a brain tumor, he did this because he was scared he’s wife would leave him and that he’s son would have no mother.
Alex Forley couldn’t live with the idea he had a brain tumor and killed himself because of that.
