The Will and Grace show

I’m going to do my presentation about the Will and Grace show. Because I think it’s the funniest show I know.

Will and Grace was an American television sitcom, that was originally broadcast on NBC from September 21 , 1998 to may 18 2006. For a total of eight seasons.

Will and grace remains the most successful television series with gay principal characters. Will and grace was filmed in front of a live studio audience on Tuesday nights. The show earned 16 Emmy awards and 83 nominations. The show takes place in new York city and focuses on Will Truman a gay lawyer and his best friend Grace Adler, a Jewish woman who runs her own interior design firm. Named ‘Grace Adler Designs’

Also featured are their friends Karen Walker and Jack Mcfarland.



Now I’m going to tell you something more about the main characters :

- Erick McCormack as will Truman ;

Will is a gay lawyer , he studied at Columbia University , where he met Grace. They have been best friends ever since. He has a very neurotic side, especially when it comes to cleaning.

- Debra Messing as Grace Adler ;

Grace is an interior designer with an apparent obsession with food, she has been will’s best friend since college and she is a very messy en neurotic person.

- Megan Mullaly as Karen Walker ;

Karen is the bisexual wife of the wealthy Stanley Walker. She works as Grace’s assistant making ‘Grace Adler designs’ more popular among her social contacts. She is also known for abusing alcohol and pills and she can be very insensitive

Sean hayes as Jack Mcfarland ;

Jack is the best friend of Karen. He drifts from man to man and he’s been a struggling actor/singer/dancer and student nurse.

There are also supporting characters as:

-Shelly Morrison as Rosario Salazar ;

Rosario is Karen’s maid. She was working as a cigarette lady when Karen hired her in 1985. She was shortly married to Jack so she would not be deported.

-Michael Anganaro as Elliot ;

Elliot is Jack’s biological son from a donation to a sperm bank.


There were also a few quest appearances, the best known are ;

In the pilot of the show, Grace was about to get married to her boyfriend Danny. When Will disapproved the marriage, she became angry and planned to get married secretly anyway. However on the way to the wedding she realizes that Will was right, and she leaves Danny. She needed an apartment and moved in with will in his apartment on the upper west side. Will and Grace spend a lot of time with each other as well as with their friends Jack and Karen.

-Jack is also a gay man, he is an actor/singer/dancer and a student nurse. He was a back-up dancer for singer such as Jennifer Lopez and Janet Jackson.

-Karen is an alcoholic multi millionaire, she works as Grace’s assistant, a job she took to have time away from the home she shares with her husband Stand and his kids, Mason and Olivia.

My favorite characters are Jack and Karen, so I’m going to tell you something more about them:

Jack finds work in retail sales and he married Karen’s maid and long time friend Rosario to help her gain U.S residency (for a green card, this is also known as a shame marriage) I tolled you that Jack had a teenage son named Elliot. Elliot was conceived trough artificial insemination and mothered by bonnie, a lesbian played by Rosie O’donnel. Jack unlike the others does not attempt to stay in a long term relationship, but instead he jumps from boyfriend to boyfriend. Jack’s longest relationship is with Stuart, which lasted several month’s during the sixth season. Their relationship ends when Jack cheats on Stuart. He ends up spending the rest of his life Karen, in a relationship that ironically is similar to Will and Grace, who they both joked about for living together.


Karen’s husband Stanley walker is described as an extremely wealthy and overweight man. Although Karen often insults Stan and implies she married him for his money, the truth is she was hopelessly in love with Stan. Karen caught him cheating on her.


She leaves Stan for good at which point it is revealed that everything he owned was on loan. So Karen’s divorce settlement was worthless. However she forced Jack to be in a relationship with Beverly Lesly, who was left a huge amount of money by his late wife, Crystal. When Beverly accidently is swept of the balcony in a strong wind, he leaves all his money to Jack, which he uses to support Karen and himself in luxury for the rest of their lives..
