Taking aim at the brand bullies

No Logo: Solutions for a Sold Planet by Naomi Klein.

The book counts (XXXXXXXXX) pages and consists of (XXXX) sub-topics. I did not have a part in the book that especially interested me, because the entire book interested me. There was much I learnt about the world around me and I am glad I read it.

The entire books describes the global injustice and the companies profiting from them. As a matter of fact, not only profiting from them, but these companies also trigger these injustices. At the beginning of the 20th centurie wealth was devided between ‘first world’ countries and ‘third world’ as 3 to 1. These days it is more like 120 to 1. On top of that, if everyone would live like our ‘rolemodels’ in soap-series there would have to be about 12 of our planet to support us.
This book is a warning to those who care about the future, our planet and the rest of the global population.

Naomi Klein describes in the book how far advertising has gone and how little un-added space is left in our surroundings. She made me realise what corporations are trying to do by branding a product. Giving it an extra meaning that really isn’t there. Nike tries to claim sport, you see sport you think Nike.
Go to a concert and every time it is sposored by some corporation trying to synchronise the meaning of the festival with the meaning of a brand. How come superbrands are more succesfull compared to minor brands?
Because those advertisings work and they work especially good on children.
