Summary
Mitchell McDeere, wanted to be succeed. The firm of Bendini, Lambert & Locke wants him. The firm goes about taxes.

He moved to Memphis with his wife, Abby. A man shows him the building. It´s the richest firm in Memphis, and he´s going to work for it. But there are some strange things, Mitch doesn´t know that his whole house is bugged. They can hear their conversations in every room. They tell him that he can´t speak a word to anybody about the firm. It´s top secret.

He makes long days. Sometimes he works all trough the night.

He doesn´t get many time with his wife. She wants to leave him for a few time.

At work, Mitch meets Tammy. She tells him that the firm does much illegal work and that there are bugs in his house.

And then he meets Tarrance. He is from the FBI. They want Mitch to get documents and other stuff from the firm. Mitch decides to work together with the FBI. But it´s dangerous. He will be followed everywhere. And he can´t simply leave the firm. Then it is his death.

When they understand what Mitch is doing, they want to let explode the plane he´s in the next day.

Mitch calls his wife with the message that she could be dead within an hour if she doesn´t run.

He takes another plane under a false name. They go to Nashville.The FBI will protect them, because the bosses of the firm want to murder him because of the files. But he escapes and the members of the firm will be arrested.

- Tammy – A lady who´s also at the firm. She thinks something isn’t correct. Her nickname in the story is Doris.

Where?
It takes places in Memphis, Nashville, Harvard and then specially in the office, on the beach, on a hotel, in Mitch´s house and in cafe´s.

When?
It takes places in 1986 and 1987. (Is told in the beginning) You can notice it's in this time because of the phones, computers, planes, buggs and many other things.

Why?
I think the purpose of the book is choosing between right and wrong. Mitch chooses in this book for the right way and works together with the FBI against the firm. He can also choose for the illegal, but rich and safe way.
