Nothing but the truth door George Kershaw

The story was playing in Bangkok on an international school. This is in this time because it is a normal school with normal items. The main character comes from China. You don’t see a lot of things out of this time. It can play in another time period but it’s not clear.

The summary about the story is:
Hu Jian Ming (the main character) is a good student. Her father thinks that she can be a good doctor. But than you need good results for your English. When she has the test back Mr. Stanyer says that Hu need some private lessons. He sad also that she have tot pay for it. But Hu have no money. She didn’t say it to her parents because her father wants that she becomes a doctor. She sells the ring from her aunt’s grandma. Now she has enough money for the lessons. Later they go to Khao Yai National Park. Here friend have a sister. She has also private lessons by Mr. Stanyer. But John says that Mr. Stanyer doing that all for the money. He was playing with her marks. When they found the way back from the field trip, the school counselor (Mr. Riding) calls her to have a talk with Hu. Hu says everything. Mr. Riding says that he will speak Hu’s father. Hu have to tell everything to her father. Her father believes Hu and Mr. Stanyer got dismissals. Hu was playing in a musical and there was someone asking her of she wants to sing in the Operatic Society. Now she can sing and work as a doctor! It closed at the end.

The main character is Hu Jian Ming. She comes from China. Now she is studying at the international school in Bangkok, because her father works there. She is 17 years old. Hu is a nice, socially and sympathetic girl. She is brave and good. Her friends are Thomas from Germany, Yoshiko from Japan, John from America and Sean. Sean is half Thai and half American. Hu talk sometimes with her cat. She takes her cat from China. I like Hu because she doesn’t will that her parents have to give all there money to Hu. But is don’t like Mr. Stanyer because he use Hu for money. Hu is a nice girl and on the beginning she has a lot of problems. Than I want be myself. But on the end have Hu all the problems solved. Than I want be Hu.


The title is ‘Nothing but the truth’. That is the title because Hu have to tell her parents and all the other persons the truth. She hates lying but Hu think that she have to do that, because otherwise her parents have to work harder for the money. It’s a good title because when you read the title it makes you curious about the rest of the book but it gives nothing away.

It’s a story about war school problems. Hu has a problem with her English teacher. Everything is about school. When they have a trip is it for school and the musical is also on the school. Hu have a lot of problems on school.

I chose the book because the picture on the front of the book was very nice. When I read the back of the book I think that is was a nice story. That was true! I like the book because it is a stretching book. When they talk with Mr. Riding or when they go to the field trip then you will read further and further. It’s easy to read the book and you can read what the main character thinks. It is only moans that there is no romanticism in the book but I love Hu’s cat. I love the part when Hu is talking with Mr. Riding.

You have to read this book because it’s easy to read it. It’s for different ages and in the book you can read something about a Chinese girl with a lot of problems. When you read it, you now what I mean and it is a book with different cultures. You have to read it!
