He has almost no contact from his friends all summer and finds that the Daily Prophet newspaper is writing lots of nasty articles about him, claiming that he made up his story about Voldemort returning. While returning home after wandering the streets by himself at night, he runs into his cousin Dudley when they are both attacked by dementors. Just as a dementor is trying to administer the dementor’s kiss to Dudley, Harry summons his Patronus and repels the creatures. Mrs Figg, the batty neighbor who is fond of cats turns up and reveals that she knows more about the magical world than she had ever let on.Mrs Figg reveals that she is a Squib, a witch without magical talent, and using her cat, Mr Tibbles, to keep an eye out for Harry. She is angry at Mundungus Fletcher who was supposed to be protecting Harry but went off to buy some black-market cauldrons. Returning to Privet Drive, Harry receives an owl from the Ministry of Magic charging him with underage use of magic and informing that he is expelled from Hogwarts. With the threat of having his wand confiscated he decides to leave Privet Drive for good. However, Harry receives an owl from Mr Weasley telling him not to leave, not to do magic and not to surrender his wand. Uncle Vernon tries to kick Harry out but he follows the advice of the letter and stays. Aunt Petunia then reveals she knows more about the wizarding world than we thought and insists that Harry stays in the house to Uncle Vernon’s surprise.Grimmaud Place is revealed as the home of the Sirius Black’s family and the current (hidden) headquarters of the Order of the Phoenix, a secret society that Dumbledore formed. Harry is surprised to see Snape is also a member of the Order. Hermione, Ron and the Weasley family are at the house. We find out that Percy has abandoned the Weasley family after an argument with Mr Weasley. There seems to be a fight between Dumbledore and the Ministry, fueled by the Daily Prophet. Fred and George have invented Extendable Ears to let them eavesdrop. A painting of Sirius’ mother shouts and screams at anybody in the house, and the house-elf, Kreacher, is more loyal to her than Sirius.Members of the order are settling in to the house as a base of operations. They are cleaning all the bewitched items out so that they can live without danger of being cursed or attacked. Sirius wants Harry to know all about the Order but the Weasley parents and other wizards think he is too young to know all the details yet. Eventually they give in and Harry finds out that the Order is working to stop Voldemort regaining power. They learn he is trying to build an army of dark creatures. Cornelius Fudge refuses to believe Voldemort is back and thinks that Dumbledore is just trying to overthrow him. Dumbledore has been voted out of the Chairmanship of the International Confederation of Wizards and demoted from Chief Warlock of the Wizengamot, the Wizard High Court. Sirius reveals that Voldemort is trying to obtain an extremely powerful weapon, more powerful than the banned curses. Mr Weasley takes Harry to his trial for underage magic use at the Ministry. They discover the hearing time and place has been changed but the Ministry didn’t let Harry know. Fortunately, they arrived early and made it in time. The hearing turns out to be in one of the old formal courtrooms, but they don’t know why. Harry finds out about another wizard newspaper, The Quibbler, which seems to be a trashy tabloid.Harry discovers he is being tried before the full Wizengamot, chaired by Cornelius Fudge. Dumbledore appears as a witness for the defense. Fudge seems disappointed that Dumbledore made it - they obviously tried to make the hearing happen without him. Fudge presents all the facts of the case except that there were dementors and that Harry was trying to save his own life. The rest of the Wizengamot are very surprised to hear about it. Percy Weasley is the court clerk assisting Fudge. Fudge tries to dismiss Harry’s claims and those of his witnesses. He also suggests to Dumbledore that laws can be changed so that the Ministry would have more control of Hogwarts and Dumbledore. Eventually Harry is cleared of charges on a split vote, much to the disappointment of Fudge.Back on the train, Ron and Hermione go to a prefect’s meeting while Harry, Ginny and Neville find a compartment with Luna Lovegood who has a reputation among the students for being quite loopy, and she certainly acts that way. Neville accidentally sprays jets of sap all over the compartment just before Cho Chang stops by to say hello to Harry and he wishes he seemed cooler. Draco Malfoy and Pansy Parkinson are the Slytherin prefects, Ron reveals, coming back from the meeting. Looking at The Quibbler, the headlines and articles all seem to come from the National Enquirer or a similar paper but Luna says her father is the editor. Getting off the train, Hagrid is not there to meet the first years. Professor Grubbly-Plank is there instead. Catching the carriages to the castle, Harry first notices that there are strange horse-like animals pulling the carriages where in previous years they seemed to move by themselves. Luna seems to be the only other person who can see the animals.Fred and George advertise for test subjects for their new inventions. Hermione is not impressed and tries to stop them. Angelina has been made captain of the Quidditch team now that Wood has graduated. Tryouts are coming up.Students talk about how the fifth year is O.W.L. (Ordinary Wizarding Level) year and that the year will be tough with major exams at the end. The students talk about what sorts of jobs they would like to have when they finish school. After a boring History of Magic class, Cho Chang talks to Harry but Ron manages to insult her. In Potions class, Harry manages to make a mistake that Snape teases him about. Harry gets very frustrated at Ron and Hermione arguing. Divination is boring and unsatisfying as usual, this class focused on dream interpretation. Harry doesn’t want to reveal his. In Defense Against the Dark Arts, they get their first taste of Professor Umbridge. She explains that they will be using a new Ministry-approved curriculum that involves no practical component. Hermione causes a big stink by arguing about this. The rest of the class joins in. When challenged that this type of teaching won’t help in the real world, Umbridge responds that, "This is school-not the real world." Umbridge calls Harry a liar for sticking by his claim that Voldemort is back and he gets detention. Professor McGonagall tells Harry to be careful and to try not to upset Umbridge but it is clear that McGonagall doesn’t like her either.Hermione starts knitting clothes to free the house-elves in the castle. The students have their first Care of Magical Creatures class with Professor Grubbly-Plank. She won’t answer questions about Hagrid. The students learn about bowtruckles. Going to detention, Harry has to miss the Quidditch try-outs. His detention is to write "I must not tell lies" over and over. The magical pen makes the phrase be carved into the back of his hand, which starts bleeding. He has a whole week of that to look forward to. Ron is being evasive about where he is going at nights. It turns out he is trying out for the Quidditch team - and he gets the position of keeper.Harry writes a letter to Sirius and takes it to the owlery for Hedwig to deliver. There, he runs into Cho, who compliments him. Filch, the caretaker, interrupts suspecting Harry is placing an order for dungbombs and tries to get the letter but Cho vouches that Harry has already sent it. Harry goes to breakfast and the mail is delivered. In the Daily Prophet is an article about Sturgis Podmore (a member of the Order) being arrested and sent to Azkaban for trespassing in the Ministry of Magic. Ron thinks it is a frame-up. Ron and Harry join the rest of the team for Quidditch practice. The Slytherins do their best to distract Ron and he has trouble making saves. Fred and George accidentally give a Blood Blisterpod instead of something helpful to Katie, who has a nosebleed. The team gives up on practice for the day. Ron receives a letter from Percy, suggesting that Ron should be following in Percy’s footsteps and disassociating himself from Harry. He also commends Dolores Umbridge as a wonderful person. He hints that Dumbledore’s days as Headmaster are numbered. Ron thinks Percy is a git. Sirius uses the Floo network to make his head appear in the Gryffindor common room fireplace and talks to Harry, Ron and Hermione. He reveals that Umbridge loathes part-humans, merpeople, werewolves and other non-humans. Sirius says that Fudge is scared Dumbledore is training a wizard army to use against the Ministry and that is why they are not being taught to use magic in Defense Against the Dark Arts. Sirius wants to meet Harry in Hogsmeade but Harry says it is too dangerous. Sirius seems disappointed that Harry, unlike his father, doesn’t want to take the risk. The Ministry appoints Umbridge as the Hogwarts High Inquisitor, which gives her the power to review the teaching of other staff.Umbridge inspects the next Divination class and is so distracting to Professor Trelawney that the class goes very badly. In the Defense class, Hermione has already read the entire textbook so continues to challenge Umbridge. Umbridge doesn’t like it and starts deducting points from Gryffindor House. Harry’s get more detentions for continuing to insist that Voldemort has returned.Professor McGonagall doesn’t allow Umbridge to interrupt during the inspection of Transfiguration class. In Care of Magical Creatures, Harry gets yet another detention from Umbridge.Hermione suggests that the class needs to learn practical skills in Defense Against the Dark Arts and wants Harry to teach the group. He doesn’t want to, but Hermione points out that he has the most experience of any of the students. Two weeks later, Harry agrees to help teach the others Defense Against the Dark Arts and they decide to hold a meeting of interested students in Hogsmeade. They meet in the Hog’s Head bar (where Hagrid once bought a dragon’s egg from a mysterious stranger). To Harry’s surprise, 25 other people show up to the meeting. After some debate, the group agrees to hold weekly meetings but need to find somewhere secret to gather. All the students sign their name to a piece of parchment to be part of the group. Hermione notices that Cho spent the whole time staring at Harry. Umbridge decrees that all clubs, teams, societies and gatherings of three or more students are disbanded. Permission is needed to reform any must come from Umbridge herself. This includes Quidditch teams and Umbridge is trying to prevent the Gryffindor team from re-forming although she lets the Slytherins start practice again immediately. Ron suspects that Umbridge introduced the decree because somebody blabbed about the Defense group. However, Hermione says that is impossible because she jinxed the list of names so that if anybody on the list told anybody else, they would come out with an obvious rash on their face. Harry’s owl Hedwig arrives injured. She is carrying a message from Sirius that says they should talk through the fireplace again that night. When Sirius appears in the fireplace, he knows about the secret Defense class because Mundungus Fletcher was in the Hog’s Head disguised as an old witch. Mrs Weasley advises them not to continue with the class but Sirius encourages them. Suddenly Umbridge’s hand appears in the fireplace searching around. Sirius disappears just in time.Hermione thinks Umbridge has been intercepting Harry’s mail and that she sent Filch to try to get his letter to Sirius under the false pretense of it being a suspected order for dungbombs. The Gryffindors finally get permission to restart their Quidditch team. Harry’s scar starts to hurt again and he realizes that he feels the pain when Voldemort has strong emotions. He can also tell whether Voldemort is happy or sad. Dobby returns Hedwig, now recovered. He is wearing all the hats that Hermione has been knitting because the other house-elves are insulted by the attempt to trick them into taking clothes. Harry finds out from Dobby that there is a Room of Requirement in which anybody can find anything they really need. Very few people know about it so Harry thinks it is ideal for their Defense group gatherings. The room is perfect for them with all the resources they need to practice. The students name their group D.A. for Dumbledore’s Army. They group starts by practicing disarming spells and Neville makes immediate progress. Harry finds himself very nervous in Cho’s presence. Hermione devises a clever scheme to let the DA members know about the next meeting. She bewitches fake Galleons to show the date and time of the next meeting in small numbers around the edge where they would not normally be noticed. When the numbers change, the Galleon grows hot so that all the members carrying one know to look at the updated time. Ron is getting better at goal keeping for Gryffindor but is inconsistent. He is very susceptible to taunts from the Slytherins trying to disrupt his concentration. During the Gryffindor/Slytherin match, the Slytherins are all wearing badges saying “Weasley is our King” and they chant “Weasley cannot save a thing, he cannot block a single ring, that’s we Slytherins all sing: Weasley is our King” and many similar verses. Despite Ron failing to save many goals, Harry gets the snitch and Gryffindor win. Malfoy provokes a fight and when Professor McGonagall decides punishments for the Gryffindor players, Umbridge interrupts and insists that Harry, Fred and George be banned for life, even though Fred wasn’t even involved in the fight. McGonagall points out that seeing as they are in her house, Umbridge doesn’t have the power to punish them. However, Umbridge pulls out Educational Decree Number Twenty-Five through which Fudge gives her the supreme power to punish. Hermione reveals that Hagrid is back. Harry, Ron and Hermione visit Hagrid who is cover in cuts and bruises and looks quite beaten up. After some coercion, Hagrid reveals that he went to find the giants along with Olympe, the head of Beauxbaton school. After a slow and deliberate process, Hagrid and Olympe had convinced the leader of the giants to trust them and listen to Dumbledore’s thoughts. However, after nearly convincing them, a fight among the giants broke outm the leader was killed and the new leader had already been convinced by Voldemort’s Death Eaters to join him. While there, Hagrid found out that his mother, a giant, had died years ago. Umbridge comes to Hagrid’s cottage unexpectedly and the students all hide. She is very suspicious of Hagrid and tries to find out why is late back to the school. He doesn’t let her know. Hagrid’s first class sees the students going into the forest. Harry sees the horse-like creatures that had pulled the carriages at the start of the school year. They are called thestrals but only people who have had first hand experience of seeing death can see the creatures. Harry can see them because he saw Cedric die. Neville can see them because he saw his grandmother die. Professor Umbridge is inspecting the class and takes advantage of Hagrid’s nervousness to report his conduct as poor. Christmas is approaching and the castle is decorated. Fred, George and Harry have been replaced on the Quidditch team. The new seeker is Ginny, the beaters are Andrew Kirke and Jack Sloper. None of them are as good as those they replaced but are trying hard. In DA classes, all the students, including Neville, are progressing well. Harry promises to start on Patronuses after the holidays. At the end of class, Cho makes the admission, "I really like you, Harry." Harry and Cho have their first kiss.Harry explains his dream to Dumbledore and the he felt he really was the snake biting Mr Weasley, not just seeing it happen. The portraits of past headmasters on the walls also listen attentively and Dumbledore asks them to assist in finding out what happened. One of the other headmasters finds out that Mr Weasley was indeed bitten and is in bad shape. They have taken him to St. Mungo’s. Dumbledore sends Harry and the Weasley children to Grimmaud Place using a portkey. Mrs Weasley joins them to let them know that Mr Weasley is alive but not at all well and points out that Harry probably saved Mr Weasley’s life. They all go to St. Mungo’s the next day and find him on the First Floor (Creature-induced injuries). Mr Weasley’s arm is bandaged and keeps bleeding if they take the bandages off. Moody and the Weasley parents suspect that Voldemort might be possessing Harry.Harry begins to suspect that he might be Voldemort’s secret weapon and he tries to stay away from the others. Just as Harry decides to run away, back to Privet Drive so as not to endanger the others, he gets a message from Dumbledore to stay where he is. He has another dream of going down the corridor toward the plain black door, whch he can’t open. Hermione turns up at Grimmaud Place, having told her parents she doesn’t want to go on a skiing holiday with them. Ginny points out to Harry that he is probably not being possessed. She was possessed by Voldemort in the past and his experiences are not like hers at all. Christmas arrives and there are presents all round. Hermione gives Harry a magical homework planner. Ron gives Hermione perfume. Hermione makes a quilt for Kreacher. They put it in Kreacher’s cupboard, which is full of junk he has salvaged before it can be thrown out by Sirius and the rest. One of the items is a picture of Bellatrix Lestrange, a dark witch who Harry saw tried through Dumbledore’s Pensieve some years prior. Kreacher seems to have left the house. The kids visit St. Mungo’s where they find Mr Weasley has had his bandages changed a day early. That happened because he was trying complementary medicine (Muggle stitches – but they dissolve from the snake venom and don’t work well at all.) They run into Professor Lockhart who is as annoying as ever and starting to regain some of his memory. Neville is there with his grandmother. They are visiting Neville’s parents, who everybody except Harry thought were dead. In fact, they were tortured to insanity by Death Eaters. In fact, it was Bellatrix Lestrange who performed the Cruciatus Curse on them. For that she was sent to Azkaban. Dumbledore has instructed Harry to take lessons in Occlumency, the magical defense of the mind against external penetration, from Snape. Harry will have lessons after school every Monday night, pretending he has remedial Potions with Snape. Mr Weasley is fixed, having learned his lesson about trying complementary medicine and realizing that it is not much good. Sirius gives Harry a package that he says Harry can use to contact him if Snape is giving him a hard time. Back at school, Cho mentions the upcoming Hogsmeade trip on Valentine’s Day but Harry doesn’t get the hint. Cho starts to leave frustrated when Harry realizes what happened and he chases her to ask her to go to Hogsmeade with him. She excitedly accepts. At Harry’s first Occlumency lesson, he argues with Snape. Snape empties out some of his own thoughts into the Pensieve before teaching Harry. Harry begins learning to defend himself but doesn’t do very well. During the lesson, Harry realizes that the corridor in the dream he has been having is in the Ministry of Magic Department of Mysteries. That was where Sturgis Podmore was arrested for trying to break into. Harry thinks it must contain the secret weapon Voldemort seeks. Harry has one of his visions and realizes that Voldemort is the happiest he has been in fourteen years. The Daily Prophet announces that ten Death Eaters have escaped from Azkaban, including Antonin Dolohov, Augustus Rookwood and Bellatrix Lestrange. The paper also says that Order member Broderick Bode has been strangled to death in St. Mungo’s by a Devil’s Snare that was smuggled in to kill him. Hagrid finds out he is on probation. Everybody is very subdued and teachers are wandering about whispering to each other. That is partly because of Decree Twenty-Six, that teachers are banned from giving students any information that is not strictly related to the subjects they are paid to teach. Lee Jordan tried to use this to his advantage by telling Umbridge she was not allowed to tell Fred and George off for playing Exploding Snap in the back of class. Next time Lee was seen, he was bleeding from the back of his hand, as if Umbridge had made him write lines with the magical pen. Harry’s scar is hurting more often and the only things he looks forward to are DA meetings. On Valentine’s Day, Harry agrees to meet Hermione at midday but goes off with Cho for the morning. They go to a café where other couples are talking and kissing. Harry feels out of his depth and very nervous. Cho tries to talk about Cedric but Harry won’t. Harry is tactless and says he has to go to meet Hermione. Cho gets very upset and storms out. Harry meets Hermione who is with Rita Skeeter. After some discussion, Harry agrees to give Rita an interview with all the details of what happened to Cedric and the fight with Voldemort. It will be printed by Luna Lovegood’s father in The Quibbler. Rita points out that the Daily Prophet only exists to sell itself and does not have good standards of independence. Harry names all the Death Eaters assisting Voldemort in the article. Harry tells Hermione about his date with Cho and gets very frustrated that he can't understand her behavior. Hermione tries to explain events from a teenage girl's perspective.Ron reports that Quidditch practice was a disaster. At the next game against Hufflepuff, the games goes badly for Gryffindor and Ginny just manages to catch the snitch to bring their score up so Hufflepuff only wins by ten points.Harry goes to sleep frustrated about many things and has trouble doing his Occlumency exercises to clear his mind. Instead he dreams he is back in the mysterious corridor with the locked door. This time he sees a glowing strip of faint blue light along the side because the door is ajar. Just as he pushed it open, he wakes. At breakfast, Harry is inundated with mail because his story has appeared in The Quibbler. People are writing to say that they now believe him or that they still don't. Umbridge is furious about the article and by mid-morning, Educational Decree Number Twenty-seven is in place: Any student found in possession of The Quibbler will be expelled. Hermione is happy about this because she knows the decree means every student in the school will read the article. Harry is happiest because Cho comes to him to tell him that she believes his story and that he was brave to give the interview. Luna reports that her father is reprinting the paper because of all the interest.Dreaming that night, Harry feels he is in another body - Voldemort's. He is talking with Rookwood, one of the escaped Death Eaters. Rookwood reveals that Malfoy had used the Imperius curse on Bode to make him retrieve the secret weapon from the Ministry. Harry wakes screaming. At Harry's next Occlumency training session, he somehow manages to get into Snape's mind and see some of his childhood memories. Harry also sees what is through the door of his dreams - a black-floored circular room lit with blue-flamed candles.Professor Trelawney has been fired by Umbridge and told to leave Hogwarts. Dumbledore intercedes and points out that he can still let Trelawney stay at Hogwarts even if she isn't teaching. Umbridge is furious, especially when she finds out that Dumbledore has already found a replacement - Firenze, the centaur from the forest.Divination classes start in a new classroom as Firenze cannot climb the ladder to Trelawney's room. Firenze mentions that he is now an outcast from the forest, rejected by the other centaurs for taking too much of an interest in human affairs. Firenze says that humans are essentially unable to see the future and that most of what Trelawney did was "human nonsense". Firenze asks Harry and Ron to tell Hagrid that he should give up what he is doing because it is not working. Harry and Ron have no idea what he is talking about! In DA classes, the students are trying to make Patronuses. Hermione is able to conjure her otter very easily. Dobby interrupts to warn them that Umbridge knows about the class and is on the way. The students all run for it and just manage to avoid being caught red-handed, even though Malfoy is lying in wait to trip them up. Umbridge takes Harry to Dumbledore's office, which is full of people including McGonagall and Fudge. Harry denies he has been doing anything against the rules so Umbridge brings in Cho's friend Marietta who gave them away. Hermione's jinx has taken effect and Marietta has the word "SNEAK" written across her face in horrible purple pustules. Umbridge hasn't been able to work out a countrjinx. She reveals that Willy Widdershins overheard Harry in the Hog's Head and in exchange for giving the Ministry the information it overlooked his exploding toilets charges. Dumbledore steps in to say that the group does exist but it was formed before Decree Twenty-four came in. Nobody has any evidence that there have been meetings since. Umbridge sent Pansy Parkinson to find a list of students in the group, and found it in the Room of Requirement. However, the names are listed as members of Dumbledore's Army and so Dumbledore says that he set up the group and the Ministry must punish him rather than the students. When Fudge says that he will be arrested at once, Dumbledore says that he won't come quietly. He hexes most of the people in the room to give himself time to escape. Dumbledore and Fawkes escape, the others wake and Fudge says that is the end of Dumbledore. Educational decree number twenty-eight makes Umbridge the head of Hogwarts School. The students are aligning in support of either Dumbledore or Umbridge. Malfoy reveals his allegiances, having been made one of Umbridge’s “Inquisitorial Squad”, a group of students who have many of the powers of teachers to punish other students. Fred and George have had enough and decide to create some mayhem. They no longer care whether or not they are kicked out of the school. Umbridge summons Harry to her office and tries to drug him with a truth serum but Harry only pretends to drink. Harry continues to claim he doesn’t know where Dumbledore has gone until the conversation is interrupted by some explosions in the castle. Fred and George have set a crate of enchanted fireworks loose in the halls. As the teachers try to contain the fireworks, they run afoul of other enchantments that make the fireworks multiply whenever somebody tries to make the disappear. Even Hermione gets caught up in the spirit of rebellion. Harry dreams again that night. This time he makes it into the circular room of identical doors and then opens one of them. He has a strong feeling that there is something in the room that he wants very much. However, he is woken by a firework before he finds out what it is. Cho comes to Harry the next day to apologize for Marietta telling Umbridge about Dumbledore’s Army. Harry’s temper explodes and he is mean to Cho until she storms off. Harry goes to Snape’s office for Occlumency lessons but Snape is called off to help Umbridge. Harry sees Snape’s thoughts swirling in the Pensieve and jumps into the thoughts. He sees Snape as a teenager among his classmates including James, Sirius, Lupin and Wormtail. Harry sees that his father James is actually very cruel to Snape – so much that Lily, Harry’s mother, who wasn’t yet dating James, tells James to leave Snape alone. She calls James a bully. As the scene progresses, Harry feels himself pulled from the Pensieve by the adult Snape, returned to his office. Harry realizes that his father was cruel and just as arrogant as Snape had always said. There are only six weeks to exams and the students are getting nervous. Harry is particularly troubled by how he saw his father behaving. For years, James had kept Harry happy but now he was a source of confusion. Harry just wants to talk with Sirius. The only possible way seems to be to talk to Sirius through the Floo system but using Umbridge’s own fireplace, the only fire not being watched. All fifth years are required to attend career advice meetings with their heads of houses. Harry goes to meet McGonagall but Umbridge is there as well. They talk about the possibility of Harry being an Auror (a dark wizard catcher). Umbridge suggests that Harry might not have what it takes to do the job. McGonagall is quite insulting to Umbridge and defends Harry’s abilities. Umbridge makes it clear she will try to stop Harry becoming an Auror but McGonagall says that she will make him an Auror if it is the last thing she does. Fred and George have created a distraction so that Harry can use her fireplace. Sirius explains that James was acting foolishly but he was only a fifteen-year-old boy, like Harry is now. Sirius and Lupin both seem ashamed of their behavior. When they find out that Snape is no longer giving Harry Occlumency lessons, they get very angry. Harry just escapes from Umbridge’s office before he is caught. Harry discovers that Fred and George had turned a corridor into a swamp. As Umbridge is about to punish them, they summon their brooms and take off, announcing that they are opening their new shop, “Weasley’s Wizarding Wheezes” at 93 Diagon Alley. The students cheer and applaud as the Weasleys fly off. Even Peeves salutes them! Ron says he overheard Harry talking in his sleep. Harry lies about his dreams but Hermione suspects that he is not properly blocking his dreams using the Occlumency techniques. The last Quidditch match of the season is between Gryffindor and Ravenclaw. Harry and Hermione sneak off to see Hagrid. They all go into the forest to discover that Hagrid has a giant tied up there. He is Hagrid’s brother, Grawp. Hagrid has been trying to teach him to speak. This is what Firenze’s warning was about and why Hagrid has so many injuries – the training is not going well. Hagrid asks Harry and Hermione to look after Grawp if something happens to him. Back at the Quidditch match, Ron saves a goal attempt and Gryffindor wins the match. It the next week they all have to do OWLs . That are sort of exams. They all think they did well. Hagrid runs away for the Ministry of Magic and leaves his brother in to harry’s hands. Harry has the dream again but in this one he sees that Siruis’s been killed by Voldemord. He looks by the fire in Umbrige her offce and finds out that sirius isn’t there. Umbrige finds harry and hermoine and thinks that they have a secret wapon. Harry and Hermoine lead her to the forest. There she is attackt by centaurs and she hasn’t been seen since. Harry, Hermoine, Ron, Ginny, Neville and Luna fly to the ministry of Magic. They go to the corridor he has seen in his dreams. They find a room full of other doors and they try every door. The last door. They went in. They are attcked by Death Eaters. Harry finds the profhecy that only harry can pick up. The Death Eaters want it but they need it from harry.
