Title: Harry Potter and the Half-blood Prince
Summary:
I read ‘Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince’ and I really liked it. I thought it was a one of the best Harry Potter-books I’ve read.
As in every book about the boy-who-lived, the story continuous, but this time everything is even darker because Lord Voldemort has risen again and you can feel the dark atmosphere when you read the book.
A new year has started but this year, when Harry turns 16, he’s gets a visit of Professor Dumbledore himself. Apparently it’s not very safe anymore for Harry to stay at the Dursleys’ this moment. Together they will find a teacher and after that Harry can stay with the Weasleys for what’s left of his summer.
But as soon as they get on the train to Hogwarts Harry and his friends notice that Draco Malfoy is acting rather strange and they think that he might have followed his father to become a Death Eater, undercover of course, because he’s still a minor. When they arrive at school they soon meet their new teachers. Snape has finally gotten the job he always wanted, Defence against the Dark Arts-teacher. This means that a new professor teaches potions. Harry and his friends get to know him and discover his sympathy for students who are famous or who get high marks. Normally Harry’s not very good at potions but he accidentally gets an old potions-book of an old student who calls himself: the Half-blood Prince. And with this book Harry gets straight A’s because it’s full of tips and handy notes that the Prince wrote himself. And that’s not the only good thing that’s happening to him, he falls in love with Ginny, Ron’s little sister and Ron himself gets a girlfriend too.
But not everything goes easy. Dumbledore calls Harry and together they are trying to find a way to find out more about the past of Voldemort by searching in the memory of certain people. They find out that the Dark Lord probably has tried to split his soul into 7 different pieces and put those pieces in objects that relate to him. Harry and Dumbledore together go looking for those objects so they can destroy them, but in the mean time Death Eaters have gotten into the castle of Hogwarts. Then another victim falls. And after this Harry makes his decision. He won’t go to Hogwarts next year, but he wants to kill Voldemort because he has caused all his pain. Hermione and Ron will stand by his side as true friends would do.
Opinion:
This book was more serious than the other 5 I was really shocked when I read who got killed this time. Can’t wait to read the next one.
