Differences

The book was very complicated. Sometimes she explains things like her disease and she uses very difficult terms. So some chapters were very difficult to understand!

In the movie they didn’t use many difficult terms so it was easy to understand.

At first I recognized several things in the movie but in the middle of it I was thinking “ is this the right movie?” or “I think that I missed that chapter in the book!”. For example when Daisy has the permission the live alone Lisa and Sussana went to her. But in the book it was only Lisa who escaped and there was no further explanation than “she visited Daisy.”.

In the movie they go all together (without nurses) to the basement with all his pipes. They go bowling and they take a look in their portfolio. But in the book Sussana is walking around with a nurse and is very fascinated of the pipes! So the movie invented a scene.

And in the movie she doesn’t seem very sick. In the book she does, she’s constantly talking about it and thinking about it.

Conclusion

I liked the movie better because I understood the movie better! But I think if I didn’t read the book I’d like it even better.
