Book report,A series of unfortunate events, The bad beginning

Title: A series of unfortunate events, The bad beginning
Author: Lemony Snicket
Publisher: Egmont
Year of first publication: USA, 1999
Number of pages: 162

1. I found this book an adventurous book because of al adventurous moments. This book had also a lot of bad moments. I think it has only bad moments. But I don’t know what kind of book it is than.

2. The series is called: ‘A series of unfortunate events.’ That means that there are only unfortunate events in this book and that is true. The book itself is called: ‘The bad beginning’. That is also true. The Baudelairs have first a good life but then it becomes bad because the parents die in a fire. So the story begins very bad for the Baudelairs.

3. Yes, I find the title a very appropriate one because it explains the text very well. It tells exactly what happens in the book and that it is a very sad book.

4. I think that it would be: ‘A bad changing of life’. It sounds a bit the same because it tells something about the same story.

5. I like the first part of the book the most. Because the first page is the only happy moment in the book, and I like happy moments.

6. I didn’t like the whole book, except the first pages. That is because I don’t like sad books at all. Give me happy books or historical books but no sad books. I don’t like books like this.

7. I didn’t want to be anybody in this book. First because I don’t like the book and second because I don’t like to experience sad things. I like a happy life and there isn’t a person in this book who has a happy life.

8. Yes. Violet, Klaus, and Sunny Baudelaire all changed when they hear that their parents died in a fire. They become very unhappy. And don’t like life at all. Also the parents of the Baudelaires changed when the burn in the fire they become ash and go to the heaven or hell. Their body’s becomes ash.

9. I don’t like the ending. When I may write this book I would make a happy ending. But when you make a happy ending it is difficult to write a series of books so maybe it is good. When you like sad endings this is a very good ending. You also want to know how it goes further.

10. I chose A. The new ending is starting on page 146. Everything that is cursive is from the book. The rest is the new ending.

“And now, ladies and gentlemen,” Count Olaf said, stepping forward to address the audience, “I have an announcement. There is no reason to continue tonight’s performance, for its purpose has been served. This has not been a scene of fiction. My marriage to Violet Baudelaire is perfectly legal, and now I am in control of her entire fortune.” There were gasps from the audience, and some of the actors looked at one another in shock. Not everyone, apparently, had known about Olaf’s plan. “That can’t be!” Justice Strauss said simply. “If Violet wants it she can separate now,” said Justice Strauss with a smile on her face. “But then I also get some money when Violet is on her age,” said Count Olaf and now it was his turn to smile. “I didn’t think so. You don’t write that in the official document,” said Justice Strauss and her smile becomes bigger. The public made some noise. The don’t like this of course. One men in the public stands up. It was mister Poe. “Let Violet separate now” he shouted to Justice Strauss. “That is a good idée, Violet do you want to separate now?,” Justice Strauss asked. “Yes, I do,” Violet said. “Than Count Olaf you most agree,” said Justice Straus very calm. “Alright than,” said Count Olaf against his own will. Another men in the public stands up. “Three times a hurray for Violet.” “Hurray, hurray, hurray!” Everyone in the theatre went home. “Violet, come here,” Justice Strauss said. “You, Klaus and Sunny don’t have a place to live now. So come and stay with my, You can help me with the gardening and read a lot in my library.”
“That would be fantastic,” the Baudelaire orphans shout. And they live happily ever after with Justice Straus!
