Before you start reading:

Why did you choose this book? 

• It looked nice and thin ….. (I might as well admit I’m a lazy bum)
• Somebody had told me to read it.
• I thought the title was cool.
• I liked the illustrations.
• Reading the backflap text made me curious.
• This is just the kind of book I like.
• Other reason: it’s one of the Twilight-series, my favourite series!

While reading:

• I found it got better and better (teachers love this kind of answer)
• I found it was not what I had expected.  (it was better and the story surprised me completely!)
• I realized I kept forgetting what I had read before (even though I’m not even 15…)
• I made notes. 
• I came across a lot of words I had to look up
• I often put the book aside to do other things

And what’s more:

• I finished the book in one go, I just simply couldn’t put it down  (I even read it twice...)
• There was a lot to laugh about in the story (and some  really sad things)
•  I told other people about the book    (it’s one of my favourites, I’m a real Twi-hard!)

The story:

1. Who are the main characters?

Bree and Diego, both newborn vampires.

1. Explain briefly why their actions are important.

Because the story is about the second life (the life where Bree’s a vampire) of Bree Tanner, so obviously she’s the main character. Diego is also an important character because they fall in love with each other. And Diego is her best & only friend.

1. Did you think the main characters likeable persons?

I think they are, they’re both very kind (for a vampireJ). Diego is very attractive and charming, and Bree is very innocent and at the same time very smart. Both they have a good taste for humour.

1. Why?  (If there are more main characters, choose your favourite.)

I don’t know who is my favourite character... Both of them are so nice, and so sweet! I like them both very much! All people would like them, I think. The fact that they were both killed in the end, makes them even more sympathetic.

1. Describe the event /part of the book you liked best.

The part were Bree and Diego kissed first, it’s very, very romantic, and very sweet! You can see Bree’s in love with Diego if you read between the lines, and Diego is so sweet! They have just met, they spend one night hunting (vampires hunt on people...) and they kiss! The moment after the kiss is very funny, because they have to act like they’ve been in an underwater cave all day and they haven’t even talked to each other.

Opinion: (Now is the time to be frank)

1. Could this story happen in real life?

It is written like it could, like vampires could really exist. I don’t think that vampires exist, but if  real vampires exist, then they would be like those vampires & this story can happen for sure!

1. Why do you think so?

Because I don’t think vampires exist. The story is total fantasy, but written like it could really be reality. It is a great story, I love it!

It is an book based on the character Bree, but before you read this book you should’ve read Twilight, New Moon and Eclipse. When you’ve read those, you’ll know that Bree dies in Eclipse. She’s only 5 minutes in Eclipse, but Stephanie Meyer liked her probably so much, she made this story about her background. I think it’s wonderful because Bree fascinated me also in Eclipse, and I wanted to know more about her. I never thought she had such a story behind her! Even though the book doesn’t describe a very long time (Bree dies before 8 nights have passed) it looks like you know Bree for years. One of the most wonderful books I’ve ever read!
