Bij beeldende vorming hadden wij een toets over deze drie dingen.. Hierbij de theorie. Hopelijk hebben jullie er wat aan!

Composition,

Composition is extremely important in many ways. Where do you put your things? How do you set the table? An artist also begins with the placement of the elements they are going to use. They sort them out carefully. A composition can be horizontal, vertical and diagonal. There are many ways to ‘full in’ space. Not only the spaces taken up by the forms in a representation are important to the composition. Also the space left over between the forms, called negative spaces.

Space,

The impression of depth on a flat plane is called suggestion of space. There are many tricks you can use to achieve this. Such as overlapping, cropping, light-dark contrast and the difference between small-large and detailed-vague. Linear perspective is a mathematical method whereby space is created using a horizon and a vanishing point. The viewpoint is important. With a high viewpoint you can see a lot. With a low viewpoint you look up at everything. Space is created in atmospheric perspective by making forms and colours more vague as they move into the distance.

Colour,

Colour isn't especially in painting an important visual element. We distinguish in the system of colour theory the primary colours and secondary colours and colour –against-colour contrast and warm-cool contrast and complementary contrast. Colours have an effect on your feelings. You can make tints and shades with saturated colours. That is how colour tones are created.
