Dear Sir/ Madame,

On reference to your advertisement in the NRC Handelsblad the last 2nd of October I would like to apply for the job as touring guide. I will explain a few reasons why.

I have an extensive experience with travelling through the Benelux and France, as I have often been on vacation to many places in these countries. I know Paris from a school trip I made recently. Furthermore, I have worked as a helper in an old pensioner’ home and I have some experience working with groups because I have been a youth scout leader.

If I can say so myself, my English is quite good. I studied English on school for almost 7 years now. I am not as fluent in French as I am in English, however I think I can make myself clear fairly well.

Last year I spend two weeks with an English family on an exchange program. This experience was very benificial for my fluency in English. I have spoke a lot of English when the English pupil visited me.

Unfortunately, I did not pass my exams yet. I will probably pass at the end of this school year. There is a small possibility that I will fail. However, would the fact that I might not have my certificate make me not eligible for the job?

I must add that I will be available in June and July. I’d like to go on holiday in August.

If I get the job I’d like to know some more about my salary. Furthermore, I would appreciate it if I could be informed about the means of conveyance that are used, the accommodation that is available, working hours, duration of the trips, sizes of the groups, insurance and anything else I should know.
