I think it is that if the alcohollaw stays at the age of 18, there would be less underaged children who would drink and there would be less problems, maybe it won’t work now but in a while, for the generation after us it will work. What do you think?
I disagree, because I think the alcohollaw should be at the age of 16 years for soft drinks because teenagers can experiment with alcohol and will get to know their own limits.
But do you even know why it isn’t healty to drink for your 18th?
There is much evidence for adverse effects on alcohol consumption among young people It's a fact that alcohol consumption can lead to physical problems and psychological problems. So why wouldn you change it?
It may be bad for your health but, lots of teenagers can get easilly alcohol from an older familimember or older friends. That means teenagers will drink secretly and the parents won’t be able to control how much they’ve had and when they have alcohol, they will drink a lot because they know that they won’t be able to get alcohol soon.
I agree but it will decrease alcohol consumption under the age of 18. And yes, there will be smart teenagers who ask others to buy alcohol for them but that also happens under the age of 16 so that’s the same thing.
Yes, I agree with you but what do you think about the cateringsector? Cafes and restaurants will loose customers and won’t be able to earn enough money and that may cause dismissal and underemployment for many people.
I think it is true what you said, but I think this is not about the cateringsector, it’s about the children who drink so young.
Yes, but still, it wil lead to a lot of underemployment people, and that will effect them, and the Dutch economy which isn’t doing very well at the moment.
And what is your opinion about the fact that also the government will get less tax money?
I think that doesn’t really matter because I think healthy childeren are more important and the government will have to spend less money to the binge drinking teenagers.
- It’s possible that there will be illigal houseparty’s and teenagers will drink a lot because they haven’t drunk for a long time. This may cause angry neighbours, problems with the police and binge drinking. And Teenagers will make fake ID’s and that’s something illigal. Teenagers could get really into crime and may do more than only use their fake ID’s
- Increasing the minimum age for buying alcohol is an effective measure, limitation of the offer, in this case for a particular group. For each measure that limited the availability of alcohol, is that people who already have (much) drink that usually continue to do so, but as I previosly said; the number of people that is about to begin with alcoholic beverage will reduce. So I think it is a good thing to do for the generations after us.
- Alcohol is a addictive substance, and every individual should decide when they are older if they take it or not.
the end:
Some people say that traffic accidents will decrease. But what do you think about that?
I think that traffic accidents will get worse because teenagers can have their drivers licence at the age of 16 and a half but they can drink at the age of 18. And then they can drink everything. They can’t experiment with soft dinks but they can immidiatly have strong drinks and they won’t know the effects of alcohol yet what causses accidents.
than you have to look to the strong drinks can they be rise up to 21?
Yes I am agree with that, I think it would be a good law!
