Eiffel Tower

The Eiffel Tower was built in 1889 by the engineer Gustave Eiffel. This building is made in honour of the World Exhibition and the celebration of the French Revolution. It took Gustave Eiffel 2 years to build this building. The height is 324 meter and it weights 10.100 tons. More then 6300 tons of old war materials from the 2nd world war were used to build this tower. By hot weather, the building expands 18 cm. Now the Eiffel Tower is used for meteorological observations. In 1956 a television-mast was put on the top of this tower, so it’s also a television- and radio station. Of course there are a lot of people who want to visit this wonderful building. I’ve chosen for the Eiffel Tower because I think it’s a beautiful building and it’s a very nice construction. I think it’s the symbol of Paris!
