This book appealed to me because I have heard a lot about Sherlock Holmes. I was curious, and I like detectives!
Give a short summary of the book.
The speckled band.
There is a lady from London who has a problem. She begins to tell; Two years ago my sister dies on a strange way, but the police had no proofs. It was just before her marriage, it happened in her room. I heard her scream and when I get there she could only whisper ‘It was the band, the speckled band.’
You must know that my mother died more than 20 years ago. Before she died she had promised that my sister and I get some money when we marry. But before that, my father owns the money. Now I get married, and I’ve heard strange whisperings last night, just like my sister heard before she died. See asked help.
That night, Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson sleep in the room of the lady from London, and in the middle of the night the heard some strange noise. Then they see the
Speckled band, the most dangerous snake of the world. The snake of the father of the lady from London. The snake has killed the sister of the lady. Just on time Watson fired, and kills the snake.
The Five Orange pips
The story begins when John and his uncle are sitting at the breakfast table. His uncle opens a letter and out fell five little orange pips and a note with K.K.K on it. Terrified his uncle runs upstairs and locked his self in. his uncle doesn’t want to talk with anyone, and he only came out of his room for once, to burn papers.
A week later his uncle is founded, dead.
His father comes to the house and a few days later he also gets a letter with five orange pips and a note that says he must bring all the papers of his brother to the stone in the garden. When his father doesn’t do it he died a few days later.
John who life is a hell, hoops it all end by this, but he also gets an letter. He decided to go to Sherlock Holmes, to ask for help. Holmes promised to help him but he must first go home and give the K.K.K. all the papers of his uncle.
The next morning Sherlock Holmes reads in the newspaper that John is killed. Angry he decided to take revenge, but he never succeeded.
The Crown of Diamonds.
Mr. Holder, head of the bank, goes home with a very expensive crown. He tells his children about it and that same evening he also has a bas conversation with his sun about money.
That night he couth his sun with the crown in the hand. Three diamonds are missing. And with pain in his hard he called the police. But the diamonds are lost.
So, he decided, to ask Sherlock Holmes for help. Holmes doesn’t believe that Mr. Holder’s sun was the thieve and he’s ride. He found out that not Mr. Holder’s sun was the thief, but his daughter. She felt in love with a criminal and she stole the diamond. Because Mr. Holder’s sun loved his sister he decided to don’t tell the true.
The daughter ran away and the sun came free again.
