Summary

Chapter 1 The First wedding.
Charles is a single man who lives together with his friend Scarlett in London. It’s the weddingday of Angus and Laura. Charles will be their best man. The wedding is in West-England. Charles still sleeps when everybody is already at the wedding. Finally he wakes up, he and Scarlett hurry to Scarlett’s old car. When he is standing in the church he reminds that he has forgotten the rings. He ask all of his friends if someone has a ring. Scarlett gives a ring of her to Charles. It’s a plastic ring. When Angus gives it to Laura everyone looks suprised.

At the wedding party Charles met Carrie, he offers her a drink. They talk a while but the conversation don’t get good and she leaves. At the end of the wedding Charles and his friends would go to the Pub “the Lucky Boatman”, but the plans change and they all go to Tom’s place. Then Carrie says that she’ll go to that pub. Charles change his mind and goes to the pub to see Carrie. After talking a while in the lounge they go to Carries room. They kissed and made love. The morning after Carrie goes back to America.

Chapter 2 The second wedding.
The second wedding is from Bernard and Lydia. Tom will be their best man. At the wedding he sees Carrie with another man: Hamisch. She’ll marry him. He also sees his ex-girlfriend Henrietta, she’s still in love with him but he don’t loves her. After the wedding Carrie’s friend is gone but she’s still there. She asks Charles to go with her and he did. Before they both realize they are making love again. After all that, she’s still going to marry Hamisch.

Chapter 3 A free Saturday
Charles wakes up. He had a card, It’s an invitation to the wedding of Carrie and Hamisch. He isn’t very happy, because he’s still loves Carrie. He goes to a shop to buy a present for Carrie and Hamisch. Then she walks in and ask if he has time to buy a weddingdress with her. She bought a beautifull dress. Outside they kiss eachother goodbye.

Chapter 4 The third wedding
The third wedding is of Carrie and Hamisch. When Charles arrives the wedding is already started. When they both say I do, Charles is verry sad. Suddenly Gareth falls, a few minutes later he died.

Chapter 5 A funeral
It’s the day of Gareths funeral. There are a lot of people including Carrie. They talk a while then she kiss Charles on his cheek and walked away. Charles really wants to find the right woman to marry him.

Chapter 6 The fourth wedding
The fourth wedding is of Charles and Henrietta. Carrie comes in and she tells Charles that she and Hamisch are divorced. Charles has doubts about marry Henrietta. He go’s to the church. He needs to translate what his non-speaking brother said with his hands. ‘’ I suspect that the groom is having doubts, I suspect that he would like to delay the wedding, I suspect that the groom is really loves another woman. ‘’

Charles admit it. Henrietta punch him in the face, and later he had a black eye. At home he sees Carrie standing outside in the rain, Charles go to her and they kiss.

At the end Charles and Carrie have a beautiful baby and their live happy together.

Henrietta married with a handsome soldier. David married with Serena. Scarlett married to Chester, a big American. Matthew finally has another boyfriend who takes all his pain away. Fiona has a relation with Prince Charles.

Characters

Charles is a handsome unmarried man which had a lot of girlfriends, but didn’t found true love. He fells in love when he met Carrie.

Carrie is a pretty woman who worked in the fashion world , she falls in love with Charles.

David is Charles younger brother he is deaf and would like to find a girl to marry.

Scarlett is Charles roommate and she is young and crazy.

Tom is Charles best friend, he is very rich.

Henrietta is the woman who once had a relationship with Charles. After that she’s still in love with him.

Fiona is Tom’s sister, she’s very smart. She never had a boyfriend because she felt only in love with man’s who doesn’t love her.

Gareth is a good friend of Charles. His boyfriend is Matthew, they are gay. He dies at the wedding of Carrie and Hamish.

Matthew is a smart, calm and nice person. Matthew is in a relationship with Gareth..

John is Henrietta’s brother. Everybody thinks he’s boring.

My own opinion

At the begin I don’t like reading this book. When I keep reading the book I liked it very much. The book has his happy moments and his sad moments. The title of the book gives already the story away. I really want to see the movie once a time.
