We’re born to be wild ***

It is about an experiment with rats, that have not been outside for 200 generations. The experiment showed that rats, which have not seen any daylight before, never forget how to survive in the wild. The experiment was to release a couple of rats and see if they were able to survive. These rats showed that they were still able to be in the wild within just a couple of hours after being set free.
People have long thought that trapping civilisations would discard the necessities of survival, but the opposite was true.

The rats (75 in number) were released on a farmyard where they were filmed and watched on their reactions, by a zoologist. He said that the rats quickly showed the ghost of their wild ancestors still lies beneath the wild coat of the lab rat. They were able to find food; water and they even build holes, what they were never able to do in the cages they used to live in.
The rats made big change in environment, cause there is a great difference between the outdoors and the research lab. In the lab everything is made for the best of the rat’s health, but the outdoors has it’s own heating. When the rats were released they had to find their own food and they had to taste everything, cause it all was new for them.
The conclusion of the zoologist was this: “We have taken the animals from the wild, but we have not taken all the wild from the animal.”
First the rats were more naive about risk then normal rats but they still had a remarkable instinct for self-preservation.
After the experiment Dr. James Thompson said that humans will be able to organise themselves into a useful society within hours. This is based on the fact that rats were able to do that as well.

The genius generation ***

The idea was to make genius persons by collection sperm and distributing it into intelligent women.
The idea came from a millionaire named Robert Klark Graham. He put the sperm of Nobel laureates in science, into intelligent women to create a new generation of geniuses. He started his own Nobel Price sperm bank and a lot of women signed up for this unique service. When that bank stopped people still didn’t know what happened to these genius children.
The reason for the stop of the sperm bank was that one of the Genius donors had identified himself. Graham had to hide himself, and he even had to hire bodyguards for protecting the sperm that he had collected. When he was hiding there were still women knocking on his door, asking to get a baby who will become a genius. When Graham suddenly died, his family closed the bank, but the files and identities remained secret.
When later more people talked about the experiment, people saw that the experiment had failed. Some of the children were indeed genius, but there were also those who where not. There were also a couple of them who had strong health problems.

But the whole idea had something good in it, cause now there are sperm banks that are more costumers’ friendly, than Graham’s bank ever was. This build to the new age were it is possible to implant sperm into mothers who can’t get children on the normal way.
So the idea of implanting sperm isn’t that bad, but you have to remember that children always will be children, so you most not try to make genius children in a way like
this way.

Santa’s science ***

It is about the science of Santa, and in my eyes to make the whole fact to a joke.
The reasons why the researchers say the story can’t be true are these. Santa can’t fly over the whole world to deliver presents in just one day, he can’t use just a couple of reindeers, he can’t go trough narrow chimneys, and more things like this.
When Santa does exist he most have to ability to use technology from out of space. Some important questions that remained unanswered are these: How does he know where children live, and what gifts they want? How can he fly in any weather, circle the globe overnight, carry millions of pounds of cargo and make silent, rooftop landings with pinpoint accuracy?
On Internet someone examined this issues in an article. Santa would need around 214,200 reindeers to flight the heavy presents, and he must be able to encounter enormous air resistance (which is near 17,500.06 times more then the gravity) to be able to deliver all presents. A normal person would be dead already when he has to do something like that. But Santa can’t be dead cause he is still delivering presents every year. Further there are lots of numbers in the article explaining how fast he must fly to deliver the present, how many miles he would have to fly in one night and how many children he has to visit.
So the whole article comes to this: When Santa does exist he has some serious hurdles to overcome.

What happens to cheaters? **

It’s about people who have cheated on exams and stuff like that, and what happens to the one’s who cheat.
First there is an introduction of somebody who got caught after cheating. He had to face a trial in front of 2 teachers and he felt threatened like a criminal.
One professor did research about cheating and he found out that almost everybody cheats at least once at high school or college, and nearly a quarter of all college student admits to serious cheating on exams.
But teachers are getting smarter with cheaters as well. They have found more ways to catch them. One of them managed to make a program, which showed that almost 3 quarter of his students were cheating. This led to expelling the students, and a couple of them even lost their diplomas. Others teachers posted false answers on the Internet, or they feel the answer sheets before scanning then. The last thing has to do with lip balm on the answer sheets for making it unreadable.
Possible things that can happen after cheating are these: In the worst case you can get expelled. Further there is a possibility of getting an XF on your script (whicht hurts the change of getting a job)
So the best thing you can do is don't cheat.

Beware of digital love **

The introduction is about the new technology for dating. A team developed a new way of coming in contact with a nice girl/man. When your mobile is close to another person, who has the same things he/she wants in a men/woman in its mobile, it gives a sign. This technology is based on Internet romances. For people who are too shy or don't go out that much, Internet is a great way out. On Internet people can have relations they wouldn’t have in the real world. It started as a page where old school friend were able to get in contact with each other, but it let to old flames being re-ignited. Most of the people use email, sms or other things to message their feelings. But it is not without any risks cause there is always the possibility that others receive this information. Like girlfriends or even the ones we are married with. This in fact is one of the most important reasons for people breaking up with each other.
So when you use this technology, you should be aware of the risk that comes with it.
