Meer informatie
I would like to tell you something about UNICEF. First I would like to tell you something about the history. After the second World War the children in Europe had a horrible live. They didn't had food, close and roof above their head. Thousand of people lived in refuge camps. A lot of people were sick and they didn’t have a lot of medicine. To change the situation they start the UNICEF on the 11 December of 1946 by the United Nations. UNICEF means ‘United Nations Children’s Emergency Fund’. A lot off food, medicines, close and other things were scented to Europe. When the crisis in Europe was over they continued their work. Now a lot of people in Africa, Asia and Latin-America are helped. Now I would like to tell you something about the children and their mothers. That starts when the mother is pregnant. They learn her what is important for her and the unborn child. This information is given in a health centre. She has to know a lot of the care and the food of the child. At last I’d like to tell you something about the UNICEF-International management. UNICEF is the child Fund off the United Nations. It has it’s own management and the remembers of the countries that is consist of the United Nations. Nine off the countries are African, six are from Latin-America, twelve are from West-Europe, North-America and other countries and four are from East-Europe. The head office stays in New York, here the projects are chosen and approved. The developing countries ask for help and the other countries try to help them. UNICEF helps a lot of children in the developing countries but it also cost money. The money they became from 150 countries. It’s not a obligation it’s voluntary. There are in 32 countries National- UNICEF comities. Also in the Netherlands is a comity that’s in Den Haag. There work above 3700 volunteers. They collect money for the children in de developing countries and give them a better future. I think that UNICEF is doing a very good job because it helps a lot of children in the developing countries. So that’s my speech. Are their any questions???
