5. Britney Spears and her onyx hotel tour My opinion of Britney Spears. I chose this subject because I’m a fan of Britney Spears. I’ve been to her new tour called the Onyx hotel tour. Some people don’t see what I like about Britney Spears. I like her songs. People may say that she’s a diva but I don’t think she’s a real diva. She’s just a girl who knows what she wants and that’s what everybody want. I’ve got a lot posters of Britney Spears in my bedroom. And three scrap-books full of press-cuttings and articles of Britney Spears. I think Britney Spears is a beautiful, smart and lovely girl. Britney Spears in the past. Britney Spears was born on the 2nd of December 1981 in Kentwood, Louisiana. Her complete name is Britney Jean Spears. Britney has 1 older brother called Bryan and 1 younger sister called Jamie Lynn. When Britney was four years old she imitate singers like Madonna and Michael Jackson. When she was five she performance at her pre-school in Kentwood with Christmas. When she was six Britney had her first competition at the Kentwood Dairy Festival. With the dance classes she follows was nobody surprised she won the competition. When Britney was seven she also started with gymnastics five days a week. Britney’s family was poor, her father got fired and her brother Bryan was an asthmatic and need money for his medications and for the hospital. The hasn’t got money so the family’s phone line was cut off and their electricity, what means that they had two winters spend without electricity. Her father and mother learned their children that if they want something, that you can get it if you try hard enough. In 1990 Lynne (Britney’s mother) saw a article for a children’s entertainment show called The All New Mickey Mouse Club on the Disney channel. So she signed up Britney but she had a little chance against the other older children. She didn’t make it the first time but when she get older she tried again and she got into the show. Together with Christian Aguilera, Justin Timberlake en Jc Chasez and Kari Russell. In the Mickey mouse club Britney rapped, sang and danced more then 110 shows. After two years (1994) the Mickey mouse club was canceled. When Britney was nine years old she played in the movie The bad seed. Britney played an evil little girl called Tina who was ready and willing to kill to get what she wants. In 1992 britney entered the Miss Talent USA competition and she won it. She won $1000,-. She was selected by Star Search. In pop idol she had to sing 3 minutes and then a jury rate them. The one with the most rates may get to the next round. Her first performance she won against a little girl who sang opera. And the second performance she didn’t win. She said goodbye to the winner and walked offstage and burst into tears. After this all she returned to Kentwood and started school again. But then she left Kentwood again to go back in the showbiz.
Britney Spears’ albums and more. Britney’s first album was called …Baby one more time. On this CD stand 13 songs. Changing from slow to up-tempo songs. The first song that came out was …Baby one more time and became a hit. This video clip was shot at Rydell High School in Venice, California. Witch was set for Grease. On Britney’s 17th birthday on the 2nd of December, the boys of NSYNC joined Britney on her tour bus to give her some cake and a special harmonized version of “Happy Birthday”. But that was nothing if you look at the selling of her first single that had gone gold with 500.000 copies in just one day. Britney’s success grown so fast that she get busier every minute. Her first album was released on January 12, 1999. Of Britney’s first album where almost 11million copies sold in the United States only in February. What means she get a double-platinum certification. Which was very special for a unknown’s début. In other also 15 other country’s her album went no.1. And more then 10 million copies. In 1999 she won several awards (the list with all the awards you will find on the last page). Then Jive records thought it would be time to get oversea, and Britney went to Europe. On February 21 the début single was released in UK. Where it gets no. 1 immediately. On the first day it shifts almost 125.000 units. By the second week it had sold in excess of 700.000 copies. Britney was to become the youngest pop artist to sell a million records in the UK alone. Jive records made as many CD’s as possible to sell in whole Europe and Asia. At the same month Britney released …Baby one more time in England she was making her new video clip Sometimes in Los Angles. During shouting that clip Britney twisted her knee. She had to give it some rest. After being eight weeks at home to recover she was terrified if she could dance ever again. The Sometimes video which was taken on a beach in freezing cold weather was finally completed, and was released in June 1999 in the UK. This song didn’t do it as good as her first song it ends up on the 3rd place. Then Britney came with the news that there was coming a series of six Britney dolls. Britney wasn’t very happy with the results. She didn’t think they looked like her. The dolls where a great success in the USA. In the UK there were 600.000 dolls sold in three weeks. And some 100.000 extra where bring from America. Then Britney began to work on her next album Oops!…I did it again. She made a tour called the You Drive Me Crazy spring tour. Britney was a pop idol but she keep saying she don’t believe in sex before marriage, but much people doesn’t believe it. The Oops!…I did it again clip was released in April 2000. It went straight on to no.1 and it became no.1 requested video on MTV’s total request live. At the same month Britney publicized her autobiography Heart to Heart wrote together with her mother. On May 16 Britney released her second album Oops!…I did it again. The album went no. 1 in the UK and the album shifted 1.319.000 million sales. In 2001 the people of Kentwood plans to open a Britney museum. The slogan of Kentwood’s welcome sign was: Home Of Britney Spears. Britney created a Britney Spears Foundation which aimed to give children the chance to experience of training in performing en other things. The first project was a summer training camp and there were 200 applications from New York teachers. Rumors came about a relationship between Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake. In July Jive records confirm that the rumors were true. Britney always had said that she loved Madonna and her songs. When Madonna released her album Music Britney was surprised to see, the one she was been a fan of when she was a kid, with a T-shirt with on it in silver letters Britney Spears. Then Britney was asked to present the American Music Awards together with LL Cool J. Britney was the youngest presenter of this show since 18-year old pop sensation Debbie Gibson hosted the show in 1989.After that Britney got a contract with Pepsi. Later in May Britney and Lynne Spears (her mother) released there second literary, A Mother’s Gift. It was a child book about the story of Holly Faye Lovell and her mother. In June there came rumors that Britney and Justin where killed in a car crash. But it wasn’t the official site of Britney was hacked and someone had put that message on the site. In the summer Britney started in the studio’s for her 3rd album and used the opportunity for some songs from her movie. She covered also a few songs like I love rock ‘n roll and Satisfaction. She also asked a few hip-hop producers for sing along on her CD. In August the rumors (that were on the site) almost became the truth when she was riding in a Ferrari 360 Modena she had hired and crashed against another car. But she was lucky and she didn’t get hurt. At the MTV awards in New York on September 6 Britney preformed I’m a slave 4 u together with a seven-foot live albino python. In October 21 she released I’m a slave 4 u in the UK. The giggling schoolgirl had grown-up. On November 6 finally Britney’s new album called simply Britney came out. The album sold 745.744 copies in the first week only. On March 21 2002 the rumors came that Britney and Justin had split-up. First they both deny everything. But later the couldn’t hide it anymore and they told the whole truth. Britney opened a restaurant called Nyla located at East 41st Street in the Dylan Hotel. In April 10 Britney’s dance beat was in the store. This was a video game where you can dance like Britney’s dancers. In 2003 at the performance of the MTV Video Music Awards she kissed Madonna at her show. Christina Aguilera did the same but noone was complaining about the kiss between Christina and Madonna but only about the kiss between Britney and Madonna. On November 18, 2003 Britney released her 4th album called In The Zone. The first song she released on TMF and MTV was Me against the music which she song together with Madonna. After that she released her next song Toxic. And the song she released just a month ago Everytime is different between the other two. Everytime was a slow song. Britney Spears in Crossroads. In mid-February 2002 Britney’s newest film premiered in the US. In the UK Crossroads premiered on March 29. Crossroads is a movie about three childhood friends. Once they where best friends but they split-up. When they where kids they buried a box with there wishes in it. They promised to dig it up at 12 o’clock at there graduation night. But one problem there not friends anymore they’re like rivals. Mimi is the one who asked Lucy and Kitty if they come at midnight. But they both have something else to do. Kitty is played by Zoë Saldana. Kitty is a very popular girl and is going to maries someone. Lucy is played by Britney Spears. Lucy is the best student at there school. Mimi is played by Taryn Manning. Mimi is expecting a baby she dumped the guy from who everyone expect the baby is. Later in the movie we hear that the baby was from the boyfriend of Kitty (with she was going to maries). Mimi is at the place where they buried the box and then Kitty and Lucy show up. When they al take there wishes Mimi said that she’s going to a sing contest. And she asked the girls with her. The both say there not coming. Mimi tells then when, where and how late she’s going to leave. Both girls are coming with Mimi. A guy Mimi knows is driving them to the contest. His name is Ben and he’s played by Anson Mount. Ben has been in jail. The girls think because he killed someone. This was a rumor at there school. Later he tells them he didn’t kill anyone he was just bringing his stepsister to another place. They get problems on the way to the contest. Mimi and Kitty are fighting the whole time. The got a car problem. The don’t have en ough money so the have to get the money somewhere. They go into the city and the girls sing in a karaoke bar. Mimi is singing but she don’t dare it. She said that Lucy must sing. Everybody like Lucy and the get a lot of money. Enough for the rest of the trip and for the reparation of the car. They put Lucy of at the home of her mother. There she’s talking and comes crying back at the hotel of her friends. Ben is helping her. Ben and Lucy fall in love. Kitty wants to see her boyfriend and want Mimi to come with her. Kitty finds out that her boyfriend is cheating on her. And she give him a stomp. Mimi runs away but falls half way the stairs. And she lost her baby. Finally Lucy’s father is coming to pick the girls up. But Lucy don’t want to be like her mother and run away for her love. So she stays by Ben. Lucy is joining the contest and she wins. I’ve been to this movie and I like it a lot. Britney Spears and her onyx hotel tour. This year Britney had her next tour called the Onyx Hotel Tour. I’ve been to that tour in Gent. The show was beautiful. It was a tour all about a Hotel. She had a number that she song in a bar. She also had a number when she was in her room. In her bath with only some glitters on her body. She had something under it but you didn’t see that very well. It was a beautiful show and I didn’t want to miss it. She danced a lot and sang a lot of songs it was a beautiful show.
