Hello friends and missis, I would like to tell you something about my favourite actor, he’s called Nicolas Cage. He was born with the name Nicolas Kim Coppola, on the 7th of January in 1964 in Long Beach, California. Talent seems to run in the family: Nicolas is the youngest of the three sons of dancer Joy Vogelsang and August Coppola. His oldest brother Mark, is also an actor, as well as a disc jockey. Nicolas is a nephew of the famous director Francis Ford Coppola. One of his most famous films is The Godfather. Nicolas parents divorced when he was 12. Nicolas often went to his uncle Francis. He wanted to become an actor, but, surprisingly enough, the name Coppola was more a hinderance than a help when Nicolas began his acting career. He was a young actor without any experience and the film makers were more interested in asking about his famous uncle. After all his auditions, without success, Nicolas decided to take another name. ( a stage name) He always loved the name ‘Cage’ because of the comic hero Luke Cage, so the choice was easy. His first film where he played in was called ‘Fast times at Ridgemont High’ (in 1982). A film produced by his uncle who helped Nicolas with a role in that movie, he was eighteen. In 1986 he played a role in ‘Valley Girl’ (his second role in a film) Later on, after a few films, his uncle Francis gave him a role in ‘Peggy Sue got married’ with Katleen Turner, his first success. A lot of people liked his performance and he got a part in ‘Moonstruck’, other famous films with Nicolas Cage were; Leaving las Vegas in 1995 (and after playing this role he won his first Oscar), Face Off in 1997, Con air in 1997, City of angels in 1998 and also; It could happen to you, The rock, Snake eyes, 8 MM and Captain Correlli’s mandolin were box office hits. He got a lot of awards for all those movies. In 1990 his son Watson Coppola Cage was born. The mother was Kristina Fulton, his ex-girlfriend. In 1995 he married Patricia Arquette and five years later he divorced the relationship. Nicolas is also a real Elvis fan and in February 2001 he met Lisa Marie Presley, the only daughter of ‘The King’, but in the end of 2001 Nicolas Cage has become single back.
