Meer informatie
I think the most serious dangers young people in London face are: - Not finding a place to stay. To sleep over somewhere inside costs a lot of money; therefore it’s very hard for them to find a place to sleep they can afford with the money they’ve got. That’s very hard, because if they have any money they must first use it to buy food, since food is more important than a place to sleep. They will therefore have to sleep out on the streets, where the chances to get beaten up or robbed are very big. This is also the next problem: - Being robbed and getting beaten up. In London, there are many criminals or other people who desperately need money. They might try to get it from the young people by just steeling it, or by beating them up and taking the money. This is a serious problem because people might get killed. It’s not good or comfortable to have to be out on the streets all day and night long, so if you become victim of criminal activities, it’s even worse. - Not finding money. It’s very hard to get money if you don’t have a job, and, if you have the money, to handle it properly. Many people, who have some money and are in a lot of trouble, might start using drugs to forget their problems. First of all, to get money is very hard because they’d have to steel it or beg for it. If they do steel the money or steel something else to sell it for money, they might get caught by the police, which means they get in a lot of more trouble, which only makes it worse. - Starting to use drugs. As I said right above here, young people (or any people) who have a lot of problems might start using drugs to forget their problems. This only increases their problems because drug addiction is a big problem, especially for young people who are not full adults yet. They might not get chemically addicted (cannabis, perhaps other soft drugs), but a mental addiction is bad enough, because it means they don’t feel good without the drugs. If they already feel very bad without a drug addiction, it will only make it worse if they do have one. Of course, a chemical drug addiction makes everything even worse (if possible). Also, when people are really addicted to a certain drug and they need it at least once a day, they must get money to get the drug. This means they will almost have to start steeling and robbing people, because most drugs are so expensive you can’t afford them if you only receive money by begging. This means they get more problems and have to start using more drugs. These people will then be in a downward spiral, which is very hard to get out of. - Not finding any food. Of course, this is very closely related to not finding money because money is required to get food. I just had to mention it here because I’m trying to list the main problems people who live in the streets of London might, or must face.
