The Beatles and John Lennon

I Think everybody here knows The Beatles or at least heart about them. If people hear the word “ Beatles “ they automaticly think about John, Paul, george and Ringo. But almost nobody knows that The Beatles originally had five members and Ringo wasn’t one of them. In 1958 John lennon started a little schoolband: “ The Quarrymen “ named after their school “ The Quarry Bank School “ . They played a kind of folk music. A lot of members left and new ones joined the group. By the end of the year Paul McCartney joined them, but in thet time they weren't verry succesfull. Ultimately there were 3 members left. Thet changed their name to “ Johnny and the moondogs “ and changed their style of music. A friend of John, Stuart Sutcliffe, joined the group, aspecialy because he had the money to buy a bass guitarr and because he had good looks. The only problem left was to find a drummer..so Pete Best joined the band. So these members would ultimately become The Beatles. First they changed their name in “ The Silver Beatles “ but that became simply “ The Beatles “ . In 1960 Totally unexpected they were offered to go Hamburg to play in the local night clubs. There they learned the job and created their own style. They played there for weeks, 12 hours a day. After the first tour, there was a second one. During that second one they had the chance to to reccord their first single. After the first tour Stuart Sutcliffe left the band. He was more interrested in art. He likes painting more then singing. After a year, when The Beatles came back to Hamburg, he died. So The beatles returned to Liverpool with four members left. Paul McCartney took over the bass guitarr. Back to Liverpool they were becomming famous, but outside Liverpool nobody knew them. In 1962 they got their first reccord contract. When they reccorded their first song, Love Me Do, they realised that their drummer wasn’t good enough. At least, that’s the official reason for his dismissal. Some people claim that the real reason would be that Pete had too much succes with the girls and that John and Paul were jealous. The new drummer became Ringo Starr and this was the beginning of The Beatles ass we know them now. Their first number one hit was “ please please me “ There were some clubs where The Beatles used to play all the time. The Cavern is the most popular one and the first one was The Jacaranda. These clubs still exist. I’m gonna tell you a little bit more about their songs. Besides the songs about love and girls, like all songs that time, John and Paul also wrote songs about other subject. For example things they remembered from their youth or places in Liverpool. - Penny Lane

In fact the song is about lonliness and is dedicated to all the lonely people. I can’t tell you something about all the members but I’m going to talk about the most remarcable one. And that’s defenetly John Lennon. He was actually the leader and founder of the band. He grew up in Liverpool with his aunt. When he was 18 his mother died. John had a difficult youth and had a lot of problems at school. In 1969 he marries for the second time. The first time was with Cynthia and they had a son who had a little hit once. The second time he married Yoko Ono. A lot of people claim that Yoko was the reason for the split of The Beatles. Together with Yoko, John organised a lot of actions. For example the “ bed in “ fot love and peace, helt in Amsterdam. In 1970 he starts a solo carreer. His most famous album is defenetly “ Imagine “ . His last concert was in 1974 together with Elton John. From 1975 until 1980 he took a break to raise his second son. Just when he reccorded his new album, double fantasy, he was murdered. In 1980, at the age of 40, John Lennon was murdered outside his house in New York. The “ Dakota building “ . A Beatles fan asked John to sign a reccord. After john singed it, the fan took his gun and shot at John Lennon. The man that did it, Mark Chapman, was found to be mentally ill. Yoko was there when it happened.
