Culture is the way in which a group of people live together. Culture is always something that has been learned. Culture is always related to a group of people.
A culture is recognisable from its many cultural factors. These are divided into three groups:
1; Things related to understanding, such as language and religion
2; Things related to how you live together, such as laws, family ties and education
3; Visual elements in a country, such as clothing, food, buildings and forms of art
When cultures spread out over other parts of the world this is called cultural diffusion. Communication makes the cultural diffusion going faster.
A colony is a country (often a poor country) in which another country (often a rich country) was the boss.
Cultural diffusion also means cultural loss: cultural factors no longer exist. They take it from other cultures and they are not doing their own culture.
There are many organisations working for cultural preservation, in which certain cultural factors are kept in museums and archives.
There are hundreds of different cultures in the world. They are split into cultural areas. The areas have very similar cultures because they have the same religion. The cultural areas are Islamic world, Western world, Sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean, Eastern Europe and Russia, East and south and southeast Asia.

The indigenous people are the original inhabitants of the area. These group of people is shrinking, because of the cultural mixing. Other people move in the country and they take their cultures with them.
Cultures change with time. Cultures also change because of cultural mixing. Cultural mixing means that factors of various cultures are used. Culture is starting at one point, and because of migration/media/tourism/trade the culture spread and mix.
In the past cultures are spread by trade, colonies and migration.
A particular form of cultural mixing is Americanization. Here, U.S. cultural factors have found their way into other cultures.
