This movie is about two sisters, Katarina and Bianca Stratford. Katarina is 18 and she was popular a few years ago but then she got sick of it, she doesn’t care how she looks and what people think of her, she likes to do things that people don’t expect from her. She became this way after Joey Donner dumped her. Bianca is very popular and beautiful and alot of guys like her. They both go to Padua High School. Cameron James is new at the school and Micheal Eckman has to show him around. Micheal thinks that he’s all that but he’s not, he’s a loser. When Cameron sees Bianca he asks Micheal who she is and he explains that he has to forget her because she isn’t allowed to date. The Guidance counselor of the school is Ms. Perky. She sits behind her laptop the whole day writing disgusting poems. Patrick is seen as a dangerous rebel, there are a lot of rumors about him; like he dated a porn star and that he ate a duck alive. Kat always expresses her opinion in class and when she starts she always gets send to Ms. Perky. Joey Donner is rich, popular and she models he even has a red Camaro. Cameron hears that Bianca is looking for a French tutor; he can’t even speak French so he starts studying it.

While Cameron was giving Bianca French lessons he asked her out. She says that she wants to but she can’t because she’s not allowed to date. The two house rules in the Stratford’s home are: 1. No dating till you graduate 2. No dating till you graduate. But later Mr. Stratford changed it into no dating until Katarina does. He does it on purpose because Katarina never dates and she hates the high school guys. Mr. Stratford is very afraid of teenage pregnancy, especially with his daughters. Cameron has one problem-he has to find someone who is willing to date Katarina. When Cameron sees Patrick he thinks that he got someone who was willing to go out with her. It’s hard to talk to Patrick because everyone is afraid of him, Cameron asks him and he says no. Micheal comes up with a good plan they have to find someone stupid enough to pay, like Joey Donner. Another part of the plan was to ask Joey if he could pay Patrick so he can go out with Katarina and that Cameron can go out with Bianca. Joey doesn’t know that Cameron wants to go out with bianca; he thinks that he pays Patrick to go out with Katarina so that he can go out with Bianca; he only wants to go out with Bianca because he has a bet with a friend. Joey goes to talk to Patrick and he ends up paying him $50 to do out with Katarina. Later that day Katarina walks out of a music store and Joey parks his car in front of her car so she can’t drive away, he gets out of his car and walks away. Katarina starts the car and hits his car on purpose. Patrick is trying to get Katarina to go on a date with him but since she’s so hard to get he asks Joey for $100 a date. Cameron is going to help Patrick so he talks to Bianca and they agree to take a look around in her room, they find out that she doesn’t like guys who smoke, Patrick has to quit. Micheal belonged to a group of rich kids but for some reason they kicked him out, and for payback he organized a party at one of their homes. Joey asks Bianca if she’s going to be at the party, she wants to but her sister has to go too. Cameron and Micheal tell Patrick what they found out and that Katarina’s favorite rock band is playing at club skunk, he goes to the club; most of the people are woman. When he sits down at the bar Katarina buys water and she notices that he’s not surrounded by a cloud of smoke. He asks her if she wants to go to the party with him. She said maybe and he said see you at 9:30. Bianca and her friend Chastity tried to sneak out the evening of the party but Mr. Stratford caught them. Blanca starts begging Katarina to go, and then Katarina decides to go. Mr. Stratford tells Bianca to wear the belly. (You can see the picture on the front) When she opens the door she sees Patrick waiting for her, he made fun of Bianca and they left. Whole groups of people come to the house with food, drinks, music equipment and they knock the door down and the party starts, the rich kid can’t do anything about it. Katarina tells Joey to stay away from Bianca but he says that he can’t guarantee that she will stay away from him. Later she sees them walk together, she gets mad en starts drinking tequila and eventually gets drunk. Joey starts modeling for Bainca, she gets bored and walks away all the girls go crazy about him. Then all of a sudden Katarina starts to dance on a table and later she hits her head on a lamp and falls in Patrick’s arms. After that He drives her home and Cameron drives Bianca home. When Patrick and Katarina arrive at her home she wants to kiss him but he turns his head she gets mad and walks inside. Bianca and Cameron do kiss. The next day every one asks Katarina to dance on a table for them. Joey pays Patrick $300 to take Katarina to the prom. That afternoon he sees her play a guitar in the music store he goes to her but she ignores him. Cameron tells him to sacrifice himself so he does he goes to the stadium while Katarina is playing soccer and sings a song for her. He got detention. Katarina goes to detention distracts the teacher so that he could sneak out of a window. The go paddle boating and play a paint ball game, he asks her to the prom afterwards. She doesn’t give him an answer because she thinks that there is something in it for him. Bianca asks her father if she can go to the prom the answer is no.


Kat talks to Bianca and tells her the reason why she doesn’t like parties and proms. She hates Joey because they dated for a few months and then they had sex and then she told him that she wasn’t ready and that she didn’t want to do it anymore. Then he dumped her.

Katarina is trying to protect Bainca from it happening to her. Katarina goes to the prom and meets Patrick there. Bianca goes with Cameron. 10 minutes later Joey comes to Bianca’s house to pick her up, Mr. Stratford shuts the door in his face without saying a word. Every thing is going fine. Joey comes and tells Patrick that he doesn’t pay him so that he can take out Katarina so that Cameron can go out with Bianca. Katarina gets mad and walks away. Patrick walks after her and tries to explain that it began like that but it has changed now, he has fallen for her. But she doesn’t believe it and leaves. Bianca goes to the ladies room and Chastity tells her that Joey doesn’t like her he only goes out with her for one reason, not to lose the bet with his friend. Joey hits Cameron and tells him that Bianca is a bitch. She gets mad and hits him 3 times with her vist in his face. Katarina has to write a poem and reads it loud in the class. She starts to cry while reading it, it a bout Patrick. Cameron and Bianca stay together, When Katarina walks to her Car she sees the guitar that she was playing in the music store. Then Patrick comes and they start kissing. And you see her favorite rock band playing on the roof of the school.

Opinion: This movie is one of my favorite movies; I like it because it is very funny and it has allot of action in it. It was still funny after like seeing it 5 times.
