Meer informatie
The book exists about three diaries of three different persons, so it's quite difficult to make a summary of the book, but I'll try ! The first diary is the diary of Adrian Albert Mole. The parts of the diary are all articles of Adrians life from the age of sixteen. It's not a continuing story. On the date where the story begins, December 24th 1985,  Adrien is sixteen years, eight months, and twenty-two days old. It's a part about how he and his family celebrate Christmas. The diary is mostly filled with Adrians thoughts about life. He thinks really weird about some Defenitions of life, he likes to filosofate together with 'the love of his life' Pandora Braithwaite. For Christmas he got presents and he and his parents went to his grandma. After this part there is a part of letters in which Adrian writes to a Hamish Mancini, a friend who lives in New York. Hamish also writes letters in return. The letters are mostly containing questions, that Hamish asks about English subjects, and Adrian complains. Then there is a part of Adrian on BBC radio, he tells things and his thoughts about life. He tells about his little trip with Pandora's father to Moscow, and his plans for a 'Mole Movement' where people will join interesting conversations. He also describes in another chapter of the BBC radio part his lifestyle. He tells all about his clothes and looks and every day program. After the BBC radio part there are diaries again. First about the price he won with the British Airways Creative Writing Competition. He wrote a story about 'A day in a life of an air stewardess', and he won the second price which was a bookmark and fifty Pounds. The next part in his diaries is about his crush on Sarah Ferguson. She is about to marry within a few days, and he writes letters to her and tells her please not to marry Prince Andrew. He thinks she is his soulmate and they're made for each other. Unfortunately for him she never answers to his letters. After this part there is a letter part again, this time Adrian writes with a boy in prison,  Barry 'Baz' Kent. Baz has a weird style of writing and the letters go mostly about the new affaire of Cindy, Baz' girlfriend, with her new boyfriend. Baz also writes a poem to Adrian, who really apreciates it, because he writes poems himself too. In the next part the diary Adrien wants to leave home, because he's already nineteen. Pandora moved to Oxford to studie Russian and Chinese, and they haven't got much contact anymore, and they both get another partner. Adrian works in the library, but he gets fired and he moves in at the house of his new girlfriend, Sharon, and her family. He doesn't like it at all to live with them and he decides to go to Pandora in Oxford. Pandora is married already, but she wants to divorce, and Adrian moves in with Pandora. He gets another job, and he has been charged with shoplifting because of a weird accident in a fight with Pandora in a greengrocer's shop. This is about where the story ends. The next diary is the diary of Susan Lilian Townsend. Susan goes on vacation to Mallorca, and there are troubles with boarding the airplane. But when all is O.K she takes her flight and arrives on Mallorca. She gets a very dirty room in the hotel where she stays. In the diary she describes all things she does on Mallorca, like walking thirteen miles a day and visiting monuments. After he has been home for a while, she decides to go to Russia in company with other writers. The purpose of the visit was to have talks with members of the Russian Writers Union. She tells about her talks with Russian writers. In the last part of Susan's diary she tells why she likes England so much. She likes England because everywhere else is foreign and strange, and because the only language she speaks is English. The last part of the book is the diary of Margaret Hilda Roberts. Margaret is fourteen years old, and tells things about her daily life, her parents and school. She tells about a new girl in her class, Edwina. At school things are getting wrong and Margaret has to go to the headmisstres, and the headmisstres thinks she is overworking.
