The fault in our stars
Good morning miss, good morning classmates. Today I am going to tell you a little bit more about the film “The fault in our stars”. The fault in our stars is a film based on a book by John Green. He got the idea to write this book when he was working at the hospital. He wanted to write a book about people who need to learn to deal with the death of their loved ones. And that is exactly the thing that happens in the film, their loved ones will die.
Let’s start at the beginning. Hazel is a teenager of 16 years old with cancer. One of her lungs does not work, so she has to breathe artificially. Because of the cancer, she spends lots of time at the hospital. So she couldn’t go to school and make friends. Her mother thinks she is depressed because she never goes out with friends. One day, her mother sends her to a support group for cancer patients. And that’s the place where she meets August. August is a boy of 18 years old and he survived cancer. But because of the cancer he lost a leg. He always has a pack of cigarettes with him. Not because he smokes, but because it is a metaphor. "You put the deadly thing between your teeth, but you never give it the strength to kill you." He is full of energy and has a lot of humor. First Hazel didn’t really liked August, but after a while, they became good friends.
Hazel and August both hate everything that is normal. They both like to read books and they borrow each other's favorite books. Hazel's favourite book is “de vorstelijke beproeving” from Peter Van Houtven. But the problem with this book is that it has no ending. The only way to find out is to go to Amsterdam to ask the end of the book to the writer himself. But she cannot because she is to sick. Each day, they become better and better friends. Eventually August will contact "Make a wish" and they will sponsor the trip to Amsterdam. After long discussions Hazel may is allowed to go to Amsterdam from the doctor.
Once arrived in Amsterdam, they immediately go to visit Peter. But this is not well off, Peter is in fact drunk. He becomes aggressive, starts to offend Hazel and then he throws them out of the house. In the evening Hazel feels very bad about what happened.
The next day they go to the Anne Frank’s house, where the two will finally have their first kiss. After they have visited the house, they sit on a bench along the inner ditch of Amsterdam. At that time August tells Hazel that he has cancer again and that it is quite spread. He doesn’t have a lot of time left to live.
The next day, they return to Indianapolis. And what happens next, you guys have to discover yourselves. So watch the movie because it's pretty awesome.
