Genre: novel.

Summary:
This book is about Sophie, an orphan who lives in an orphanage in London.
One day she couldn’t sleep in the middle of the night. Suddenly she froze; something tall, black and thin was coming her way. It had a trumpet-thing and a suitcase with him. Suddenly he picks her up from her bed and took her to Giant Country. There he tells Sophie, he is the BFG (Big Friendly Giant), and he is one of the ten giants in Giant Country. He is the ONLY one who doesn’t eat human beings. He took Sophie because, nobody may know there are giants living, because they are afraid human beings will kill them, and because Sophie saw the BFG, she must stay in Giant Country forever!
The BFG catches dreams with his big ears and blows them into the faces of children, so they have nice dreams...

The other nine giants are asleep during the day and at night they go to many places in the world to eat children for supper!
Sophie and the BFG hate the other giants, because nobody wants to believe her when she tells the police and everybody else about the horrible giants.
They make up a plan to stop the giants eating human beings. They make a dream for the Queen of England. It is a horrible dream; a terrible nightmare! It is about nine giants who eat children, about a Big Friendly Giant, who blows nice dreams into the faces of little children and the dream ended with a little girl, called Sophie who is sitting on the windowledge. When the Queen wakes up she tells Mary, the Queen’s maid, about the horrible dream. Then Mary opens the covers she sees Sophie. Sophie tells the story about the giants and the dream. The Queen wants to help them and makes also a plan.
They call the Head of the Army and the Head of the Air Force. The BFG and Sophie go with nine helicopters and many soldiers to Giant Country. At the moment they come in Giant Country, the giants are asleep. They tie up the giants one by one. The giants are tied up under the helicopters and they go back to London. There they are thrown into a big hole, and the BFG and Sophie saved so all the people of the world!!!
They built a house for Sophie near the palace of the Queen, and a bigger one for the BFG. The BFG began to write books, and one of them is this!!!

Person:

-Sophie: is a nine year old orphan, who lives in an orphanage in London. Her parents died when she was a baby. The woman, who ran the orphanage, was Mrs. Clonker. Sophie hated her because when you did something bad, she would lock you up in the dark cellar for a day and a night without anything to eat or drink.

-De BFG: is as his name already says, a Big Friendly Giant. He lives in a big cave in Giant Country. He is twenty-four feet high and has big ears, which he used to catch dreams. His speech is very bad. He always says, “I is” of “I are”.
He also says words wrong!
The BFG is one of the ten giants in Giant Country. The other nine giants called:
-The Fleshlumpeater
-The Bonechruncher
-The Manhugger
-The Childchewer

-The Meatdripper
-The Gizzardgulper
-The maidmasher
-The Bloodbottler
-The Butcherboy
They all eat human beings!
They all live in caves. They sleep the whole day and in the middle of the night they go to all places in the word to eat human beings!

-The Queen of England: is in this story a very nice person, who helps the BFG and Sophie to stop the bad giants and give Sophie new clothes and a home.

-The Head of the Army and the Head of the Air Force: the only thing i know is that they wanted to kil those giants and that their soldiers are braver than they are, because when they had to tie up the giants , the two Heads were sitting in their cars, because they were afraid of the giants!

The story takes place in:
In the beginning the story takes place in the orphanage and in the streets of London, and then they go to Giant Country and back to London again to the Queen’s palace.

Finnaly they go to Giant Country to capture the giants and take them to London where the story ends...

The story takes time in:
I think the story takes about a month, because the journey from London to Giant Country takes a few days and they go a few times to London and back.
They are also for a few days in Giant Country, so i think it takes about a month.

My personal opinion:
I really like this story, because it is very impressive. It is such a strange story, i do think i don’t forget it soon. It is also really funny, i would also like it to catch dreams and blow them...
The only thing which was sometimes difficult was the language of the BFG.
