But, when Mr. Brownlow sends Oliver to the bookshop, he is kidnapped by Nancy, and brought back to Fagin. Oliver is not happy and he is even more unhappy when Oliver and Bill Sykes have to break into a big house. Bill takes Oliver back to Fagin. Meanwhile, Nancy learns a lot about Oliver's history. At the risk of her own life, she eavesdrops a conversation and goes to Rose Marlie and Mr. Brownlow to tell them about the history of Oliver. Monks, a bad man, comes to Fagin. Nancy listens and she hears that Monks wants Fagin to teach Oliver to become a thief. So Nancy tells Rose Marlie and Mr. Brownlow that Oliver is at Fagin's. But, when Nancy and Mr. Brownlow are meeting, Dodger eavesdrops the meeting and tells it to Fagin and Fagin tells Bill Sykes. Mr. Brownlow is looking for Monks, after he met Nancy, and he can't believe it. Bill is worried about it because of Fagin so he kills Nancy. Bill runs away for the police and goes up on a roof, with Oliver, but falls down and he died. The police have picked up Fagin with his thieves. Before Monks died, he came to Mr. Brownlow and left something, a beautiful painting of a young lady. When his father died, the girl went away. She went to a workhouse, were she died. Mr. Brownlow didn't know that. Oliver came into his house and Mr. Brownlow saw the likeness between the painting of the young lady and the boy, so Mr. Brownlow adopted Oliver.

Beste Anne,
Groetjes Frederique
