Summary: Harry was waiting for Dumbledore at home. He was going to pick Harry up and take him to the Burrow. There were strange things happening, but luckily everyone believed that Voldemort was returned. There were accidents in England and the Minister of Magic had visit the Prime Minister to tell him about the situation. Everyone was speaking about the prophecy, which tells that Harry is the Chosen One. When Dumbledore finally arrived, he didn’t take Harry to the Burrow, what they agreed, but he went to Horatio Slughorn. A man who had been teacher at Hogwarts a couple years ago. Dumbledore asked him if he wants to come back to Hogwarts to start teaching again. At the Burrow Harry saw Hermione and Ron again. He told them about the Prophecy. Harry had a great time at the Burrow, but he also looked forward to return to Hogwarts. Later on they received there results on their O.W.L.’s. Harry feared he wouldn’t be able to become an Auror, because Snape wouldn’t let him continue potions with just an ‘Exceeds expectations’. They all went to Diagon Alley to get their supplies for their next year at Hogwarts. At Diagon Alley they visited the new joke-shop of Fred and George.( Ron’s brothers) Later on they saw Malfoy walking alone, which they found very strange. They decided to tail him. They couldn’t find out what Draco was up to exactly, but Harry had a bad feeling about it and decided to keep an eye on him, but Ron and Hemione didn’t believe him. Back at Hogwarts, Snape has finally got the position he always wanted, Defence against the Dark Arts teacher. Slughorn will be teaching potions from now on. Harry was very pleased with that, because Slughorn would let him do Potions, with only an ‘ Exceeds expectations’ He didn’t count on that, but luckily he was allowed to borrow some Potion books from school. The book is scribbled full with all sorts of notes which told him in the first Potion lesson what he had to do. The book helped him to became the best of the class and to win a botle of Felix Felicis, a potion that makes you lucky. When harry looked at the first page of the book, he saw the man who wrote the notes was called “ the Half-Blood Prince”. Dumbledore would also give Harry private lessons this year and Harry couldn’t wait to start them. Dumbledore wanted to teach Harry more about Lord Voldemort and his past. During the first excursion to Hogsmeade somebody tried to sneak a dark artifact into the school.But the offender failed and a student ended up in St Mungo’s, because she touched the necklace and she got cursed. Harry suspected it was Malfoy who tried to smuggle the artifact in, but nobody believed him. At the evening of Slughorn’s Christmas party, Harry finally got some interesting information. Malfoy and Snape had a row about a task. Snape wanted to help him, but Malfoy wouldn’t let him. Snape told Malfoy that he made an Unbreakable Vow to Malfoys mother. Later Harry found out that you’ll die if you break him. After Christmas Harry got some homework from Dumbledore. He had to get a memory from Slughorn. Finally he got the memory, but it took him a bit of Felix Felicis. Slughorn’s memory showed Slughorn telling a young Voldemort what Horcruxes are and how they are made. A Horcrux was an ordinary object, whith a piece of somebody’s soul in it. To get that piece of soul, you had to kill someone. If the soul’s devided, you can only die if all the Horcruxes are desroyed. Dumbledore told Harry that Voldemort’s soul is devided in 7 pieces. They have to destroy them all, before Harry can kill Voldemort. Dumbledore told Harry that he had already destroyed a few Horcruxes and he promised Harry he ccould join him when he found another. Unfortunately Dumbledore asked Harry to come with him just on the day Harry discovered Draco had finished his plan. Harry gave his friends the Felix Felicis and asked them if the want to keep an eye on Malfoy and Snape. Nervously he left with Dumbledore. Dumbledore took harry to a cave, in the middle of a great leg. They found the Horcrux, but it took some trouble for they got him. When they finally got the Horcrux they returned to Howarts. When they came there the Dark Mark was hovering above the castle. When they land Dumbledore charmed Harry. When Malfoy came out of the castle Harry couldn’t move because of the spell. Malfoy said he had to kill Dumbledore, but he didn’t want to anymore. Then Snape came and he killed Dumbledore. When Dumbledore was dead, the Death Eaters fled. Snape followed them and cried to Harry he was the Half-Blood Prince. With Dumbledore dead, the whole school has turned sad. Harry knew that he had to destroy the Horcruxes and he decided to return to the house of his parents.
