Meer informatie

1.Title: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
Date of publication: 8 july 2000

2. Author: J.K. Rowling.
Born: 31 juli 1965
Nationality: English.
Some titles: All the Harry Potter books.

3. Background: The most important place for this book is definitely Hogwarts (that’s the school for Wizards) And this school take place in Scotland. The place is unknown but it is very close to Hogsmeade.

4. Time: The actions take place in the present. All of the events in the Harry Potter books were described in the present. Only the flashbacks are in the past. Most of the events take a few weeks. The writer began with an event and then describes she the development from the characters untill the end of that event. There’s not a real chronological order because sometimes you read flashbacks from 10 or 50 years return.

5. Narration: It is a he/she narrator. Because sometimes you can read some things about the Personality, thoughts and emotion from Hermione or Ron.

6. Characterisation: Harry potter:
He is in this book 14 years old, he has 2 best friends and is very social. His school is Hogwarts (The same school as his 2 best friends.) His hobby (and also interest) is Quidditch, he is very good in that sport. He looks a little bit young, because he is very small. He has black hair and a round glasses.

Ron Weasley:
He is in this book 14 of 15 years old, has has also 2 best friends and is not very Social, he’s a little bit shy, especially with girls. His hobby is Quidditch but he isn’t Very good. He hate’s school so he’s also not very good in that. He has red hair, a Head full freckle and he’s always wearing (a bit) old clothes. Because his family is Poor and he get clothes from his older brothers.

Hermione Granger:
She is 14 years old, she has 2 best friends (Harry and Ron) and later in this book is She a friend from Ginevra. So sometimes she is very social but mostly is she in the library with her books and not with persons. Her hobbies are reading and learning for school. She is always wearing ‘easy’ clothes but with the Yule Ball is she wear a beautiful pink dress.

7. Character development: No, the characters are always the same. But in the books after the first book are the characters more grew up. (But that’s logic.)

8. Genre: Fantasy.

9. Theme: The most important thing from this book is definitely to entertain the readers. There’s nothing about things in the real world so it’s easy to read. The main theme in this book is wizards. In this book you follow three young adults and they learn things in the wizard world, from conjure untill fly on brooms. The title is simple: Harry Potter (The main character from this book) and the Goblet of Fire, the most important thing in the story. Because the Goblet is a sort of the reason for the story.

10. Personal Opinion: I like this book. Because it is in a world full of unbelievable things. There are not many books with this subject and the writer is so good that you believe that this is real, sometimes you think that you can see the brooms on the street. I also like the main characters, because they are very nice to everyone and very funny. Also the theme is nice, but I think that you should love it. If you hate the wizard world, then you also hate this books. But I like it.

11. Summary: Hogwarts organised an Wizard Tournament between three schools. Only students older than 17 years old are able to join the Tournament. The teachers placed the Goblet of fire and this goblet chose one student from each school. Those three may join the Tournament. The Goblet of Fire gave the names from the students, but then cames Harry’s name out of the Goblet of Fire. Everyone thinks that Harry has put his name in the Goblet but that isn’t true. But now thought the teachers that Harry will be murdered by someone. When Harry after the last mission the Trophy touched together with Cedric came he in a field. Because the Trophy was a Portkey.
Pippeling was also there and he killed Cedric and he tie down Harry. After that helps Pippeling Voldemort back to life. He wants to kill Harry. But Harry’s wand has the same core as Voldemort’s wand. So he can beat him. Harry take the Trophy and the body from Carlo and goes back to Hogwarts.
