Book review: Bristol Murder by Philip Prowse
Peter Jones is a 22-year-old lorry driver that encountered a hitch-hiker and gave him a ride. While driving he asked who the young man was. His name was John Stevens a 16-year-old boy who ran away from home because his uncle had hit him and he hit back. He knocked his uncle unconscious but the police found his uncle death and allot of furniture was broken. John was framed for a murder he didn’t commit. Peter believes the young man and he decide to help him.
He knows some people who know people that could know what happened and who did it. He visits his old friend Jeff Beck who is a ex-prisoner. Peter gets the name and address of Bob Steel, a local informer in Bristol, and went to visit him. He soon finds out that Bob can’t be trusted and that he needs to be more firmer with him to get the information he asked for. In a pursue he learns the truth and he, Bob and the murderer, Tommy Logan, get arrested. In the police office Tommy admits that he is guilty and John goes free.
