Summary
The book tells us something about the life of Bridget Jones. Bridget is an ordinary, maybe a somewhat stupid woman. She is in her early thirties and still single, something she wants to change. Every day she writes in her diary how much she weighs, how much she smokes, drinks, eats, and how many lots she has bought.
One day Bridget should go to a new year dinner with her parents, Bridget's mother and a friend of her mother would like to link Bridget to Marc Darcy. But Bridget and Mark don’t like that.
Bridget thinks she has finally found a nice man but she’s wrong. To make things worse, Bridget’s mother walks out on Bridget’s father.
Bridget tries to change because she’d like to find a nice boyfriend.
On a party Bridget meets Mark again. Even though he has a beautiful girlfriend he asks Bridget out. Marc and Bridget get a relationship. Finally Mark even asks Bridget to marry him.
Bridget's mom realizes that she can’t live without her husband so the relationship has been rescued.

My opinion about the book
I like the book because it has a lot of humor in it. I like Bridget because she is very recognizable and a bit clumsy. Fortunately, it ends well and exactly the way I like it to end.
