Girl Online is about a girl, Penny, who writes a blog. She lives in Brighton. Her parents organise weddings. They have a great opportunity to organise a wedding in New York.  Penny’s best friend Elliot can come to New York too. Penny meets Noah in New York and she fell in love with him. She writes some posts about him at her blog. But back home someone has told a magazine about Penny and Noah. And they get in a fight.

Penny is a girl who lives in Brighton. She is fifteen years old. She writes a blog with the name Girl Online. She has orange hair and freckles. She has been in a car accident and she now suffers from panic attacks. Her best friend is Elliot.

Elliot is Penny’s best friend. He lives next door. He loves vintage clothes. He is gay. In the beginning he is the only one who knew about Penny’s blog and panic attacks.

Noah lives in Brooklyn, New York. He is eighteen years old and has messy hair. His parents have passed away and he lives now with his sister and grandmother. He is a famous singer.

Penny is really insecure about herself and her panic attacks in the beginning of the book. She creates an alter ego: Ocean Strong. Because of Ocean Strong she gets more confidence. And with help from her parents, Elliot and Noah she can beat the panic attacks.

When someone told a magazine about Penny’s blog and her relationship with Noah she had to choose to stop writing on her blog or to keep writing on her blog. First she chose to stop writing at her blog because everyone was sending her hate messages on social media. But when she talked to Elliot he said she had to write one last post with the truth. So she wrote one last post on her blog with her side of the story. And after that the fight between her and Noah was over.

I think that it is really brave to do that. It could go right or wrong. She ended the hate messages and the fight between her and Noah.

Yes, it is a good book for young adults. If you are reading you can feel what the main character, Penny, is feeling. And it’s different from other books because there are text messages and blog posts in the book.

“A New York Trip” and “Secret Love”

I chose the book because I knew Zoë Sugg (Zoella) from YouTube and I liked her videos. I like this book because you can feel what the main character is feeling. And you understand why she is feeling that and why she does some things. I am going to read the sequel of this book: “Girl Online: On Tour”.
