Meer informatie
In the beginning of the book, Alice felt very sleepy because she was bored. She sat under a tree and fell asleep. After a while, she saw a rabbit. He had large, pink ears, like most rabbits but, unlike most rabbits, he was wearing a blue coat and he had a watch in his hand. He was looking on his watch and saying that he would be too late. Alice decided to follow the rabbit trough a rabbit hole. Then she came into a long, empty hall and she saw a little door. She tought that the rabbit had taken this door, so she also wanted to go through this door, but she was too tall. Suddenly, she noticed a small table in the middle of the room and there was a small bottle on it. There was a paper on the bottle saying : « DRINK ME ». Alice decided to drink the bottle and suddenly, she was getting smaller and smaller. She tought that she could go through the door now, but she was forgotten that the door was locked and she had left the key on the table. Then she noticed a very small cake on the floor beside her. On the cake, she could read the words « EAT ME ». So she did. Suddenly, she was nine feet tall. She started to cry because she couldn’t go through the door anymore and her tears soon made a lake. A few minutes later, she started to shrink again and she had to swim. Soon, she got through the door and saw a bunch of animals. In front of them there was a dodo and it asked Alice to join a race. Alice and some other animals went into a circle and started to run. After half an hour, the dodo shouted that they had to stop and he said that everybody had won. The dodo demanded Alice to give the prizes. She gave the animals some biscuits and left. She came to a wood and there, amond the trees, there was a little house. She entered the house and saw a duchess and a Cheshire Cat, with a big smile on his face. The duchess had a baby in her arms and she asked Alice to look after it. Then she went away. When Alice went outside, the baby started to move about so wildly that she couldn’t hold it anymore. The baby was turning into a pig. As soon as it was a pig, it ran into the wood. Alice was rather glad. Then, to her surprise, Alice saw the Cheshire Cat again. He told her that when she went to the right, she’d come to the Hatter’s house and when she went to the left, she’d meet the March Hare. They were both mad. Then the the cat disappeared. Alice decided to go the left and she came to the March Hare’s house. She went inside and saw the March Hare and the Hatter (because he was wearing a hat). They told her that there was no room at the table (and there was enough room). There was a dormouse, who was telling a story, but it fell asleep. Then Alice decided to leave. The path she followed led into a wood. She noticed that there was a door in one tree. She opened it and went inside. The door in the tree led into a beautiful garden full of bright flowers. There were soldiers, but they had the shape of playing cards. Then the Queen of Hearts entered the garden. The Gueen asked Alice to search the Mock Turtle. Only the Gryphon knew where the Mock Turtle was. Alice walked along with him and saw the Mock Turtle. He was crying because he was only a Mock Turtle and not a real one. When it was time to leave, Alice and The Gryphon went to a trial. It was a trial to find out who stole the Queen’s tarts. When they arrived there, Alice soon got bored, because they’d never find the thieves. Then there was a Knave. The Queen said the Knave was quilty. She also said that that there first was a punishment and then, the jury could decide if he did it. Alice jumped up and shouted that this was silly. The Queen was very angry and she shouted : ‘Off with her head !’ Alice was very brave and shouted that she wasn’t afraid of her. As she spoke, Alice fond out that she was lying in the garden under a tree. Alice stood up and told her sister all about her curious dream.
