These photos to me mean asylum because even though it may look like just an orchid, a few candles and the sun, they are not the sole object of any photo. No matter how solemn something may look, it is never alone, whether they be accompanied by their shadow, smoke or clouds. Asylum to me means sanctuary and safety in the knowledge that I can feel lonely, but that even abstract, untouchable entities keep me company. I chose to capture the sunlight as I feel like it is constant and reassuring.
