I chose to take pictures of a single poppy in a field. Poppies symbolize remembrance and hope for a peaceful future which, I think, represents asylum seekers. Asylum seekers hope for a better future and opportunities. For me, asylum is a safe, inclusive and loving place where one can be oneself. Asylum can be daunting, and a hard experience. The single poppy shows how asylum seekers may feel alone and different even when surrounded by people. It is also not easy to leave your whole life and family behind and remember them with nostalgia and love.
