I see the changes around me, often subtle, and wonder if this is a step in the right direction. There’s still so much we don’t know about sustainable solutions, most people don’t even know what power source supplies their household. EVs often face issues during their production as the mining of materials such as lithium release toxic fumes, and utilise child labour. Often transported all around the world to be manufactured, giving them an unknown carbon footprint. I wonder who really controls these changes, and whether they’ve considered these possible disadvantages. Are our sustainable solutions truly sustainable themselves? It’s vague.
