The Matrix Revolutions On November 5th, the long wanted ending of the world famous trilogy, finally arrived. Over 70 Countries all over the World, the Countdown started, and at the last second the Movie went into Premiere. And I was one of those people to check it out this Premiere of the Matrix Revolutions. This Superb ending of the trilogy is directed and written by the Wachowski Brothers; Andy and Larry Wachowski. Produced by Silver Pictures, Village Roadshow Productions and Warner Bros. And of course Starring Keanu Reeves as Neo, Carrie-Anne Moss as Trinity, Laurence Fishburne as Morpheus, Collin Chou as Seraph and Jada Pinkett Smith as Niobe. Further Starring the bad guys Hugo Weaving as Agent Smith and Lambert Wilson as ‘Ze Frenche Guye’ The Merovingian. “Everything That Has a Beginning... Has an End” - The Oracle – That is what the goal of this third part is, the End. The Question is: Will it be the End of The One (Neo), The End of Zion (the Last Real human City – Not in the Matrix) or The end of The Computer Programmed Matrix? Well, as to where part two (The Matrix Reloaded) ended, one traitor, Bane, Shot the EMP, causing some aircraft-ships to be destroyed and causing Bane himself and Neo to go to first care. Though, what they don’t know is that Bane is actually the real form of Agent Smith but then in the real world. Now Neo is trapped ‘within the Real world, and the world of the Machines’ – which is the Train Station, from where deleted programs can return to the Matrix. But The Trainman, who works for The Merovingian, won’t let Neo free so easily. When Morpheus, Seraph and Trinity go to The Merovingian they have to pass the entrance of Club hell. At this moment in time the Anti-gravity fight takes place. When the Crew reaches the Merovingian he says he wants the Eyes of The Oracle, only then he will release Neo. After some Tiny Discussion, with a simple movement of putting a gun towards the Merovingian face, Trinity is able to Get Neo back to the matrix. Now, Neo Wants to go to Machine City (There are all the Fields with People Plugged into the Matrix), since he Believes the Answer of Solving the war lies there. On Their Way, Neo and Bane Have a Fight in the ship, Neo soon understand who Bane is, and Kills him, though leaving Neo to see nothing, since Bane stuck an electric wire into Neo’s eyes. But don’t worry, Neo is The One, and He can See. He sees The Light, and everything is made of this light. Meanwhile the war between the people of Zion and The Machines (octopus like Sentinels) continues, and it isn’t an easy fight. Millions of those Strong Sentinels are Attacking Zion, and as Few Get destroyed, twice as Many stand in the Place for them. Further, Niobe Managed to pass the Mechanical Line and gave an EMP surprise to the Sentinels, causing many to die, but again disabling some functions of Zion Warrior Machines. Again, The Sentinels are Back, and the fight going on. The hope to win the war decreases; Many Warriors are dead, ammunition is finished and they aren’t yet ready to fight. Neo and Trinity have Reached Machine City but as they crash through the Electric Clouds, Trinity is pierced by 3 metal wires and she dies sadly. Neo, Totally Broken, though doesn’t give up, he manages to enter the Matrix, and the final Battle between Neo and Smith take Place – The Super Brawl. Smith is Stronger than ever, since he has ‘zipped in’ the Oracle into himself too. But who says that was a right Decision? The power of the Oracle Smith is divided into two parts – Himself and The Oracle. As Neo plays a Trick with Him, he Gives up, and allows himself to be taken over By Smith Too, but then, The Power of the One isn’t finished. Neo Internally Destroys Agent Smith, Causing all Smiths to be destroyed and over written by the original files of the humans. The Matrix Gets Destroyed, The war between the Machines and Zion is Over – the sentinels leave and All Bad Programs are Deleted (since the Matrix no longer exists too), though the Two Loving Couples, Trinity and Neo, are the true Saviors who Zion Will Never see again… As you can see the story plot, it is seen in chronological order. Though, sometimes Neo can see short visions from the future. He sees Machine City, while in reality he has never been there consciously. Therefore, those tiny flashes are flash forwards. The Story ends openly, it has no closed ending. At the Complete ending there is a short conversation between the Oracle and The Architect of the Matrix. The Architect asks: “How Long Do You think this Peace will last?” to which the Oracle Replies “As long as possible”. This allows the architect of the matrix to once again create a matrix, if he really wants to, so there could be a part four. However, the Wachowski Brothers have already agreed not to continue with another sequel to the Matrix Revolutions. The Story is viewed from multiple main characters. Sometimes you see Neo, Then Trinity, then the Oracle... It changes all the time throughout the movie. Neo is The One. The trilogy of the Matrix builds it up. In Part one, the One was Born, In Reloaded The One lived, then finally in part three he is supposed to die. And that is what happens. Neo is a simple character, He doesn’t speak much. His Movements are thoughts are therefore totally unexpected. This point is supported by the fact that the whole story of the matrix is very unexpected too. I can’t find myself in Neo. For Example, He is far more intelligent and calm than me. Oh... and he can fly =)!! Agent Smith has a bit more smaller role. He is The bad guy. But still, I find him sympathetic too, because his character is displayed very strong throughout all the three movies. He really wants to destroy everything; his hate to Neo is depicted so strong, even the whole surrounding acts to his emotions. The Whole Movie is shown in several places. It Started off in the Real World, Then on The Train station, Club Hell, Zion, Logos, Machine City, Matrix Super Brawl and then the real world without any matrix. The time in which the Story is happening is in the Year 2056. This time reveals that any sort of thing as A.I is still possible in the future, So any similar thing to the matrix is possible to, therefore any thing as the One is also possible. But let’s just hope that it won’t be true. =) The theme of the Movie is to Put The Viewer in such a state, he/she will start to think. Andy and Larry Wachowski really managed to put that in Original Ways. “What is The Matrix?” and “What Will Happen Now?” are some questions which will rush through the viewers minds. The Genre of The matrix Revolutions is very clear: It is a Fiction containing symptoms of Action, Adventure, Animation, Love, War and Science fiction elements. Like In the previous two Matrix Movies, the Special effects are Amazing. All Thought up by John Gaeta, Super Effects Visualizer. All The Animating and Programming of the Things are done by about 100 other Visualisers. By Combining the Special Effects with the Wire Systems, Actors and Other Props the Fighting Scenes are Fabulous! All The Sentinels, Warrior Machines, Sceneries and Lighting set-ups create an Effect of Being in the War yourself. The Costs of only the 10 min machine versus human scene costs thrice times as much than any other ordinary Movie. The Slow-motion effects are one example of those amazing visual effects. There is one hit by Neo when he hits Agent Smith In his face. The Super slow-motion is combined together with original captures and CG (computer Graphic) editing; creating a pathway of Neo’s fist through the thick rain, hitting smith’s check like a rubber-duckie effect. This must have been the best part of the whole movie, since everyone in the cinema hall was watching with their eyes and mouths wide open “Ooohh”… John Gaeta is famous for his ‘inventions’ in the modern camera editing constructions. One of those example is the ‘Bullet time Effect’ displayed in the first movie, and variously repeated in Reloaded too. Moreover, The special effects in the Matrix have shown a new generation to almost all technologic TV advertisements and action movies. A pretty good Credit to the Visual effects team. Then, The new ‘invention’ in reloaded and Revolutions is the Visual CG Camera Movements. It contains the effect of letting the camera move so fast, that in reality the camera lens would blast. But the trick is that the whole background and Actors are converted to CG, and then letting the Digital CG camera simple move round in the newly Created Computer world. This Effect was first shown in the Burly Brawl (reloaded) and then repeated in the Fly Fight between neo and smith high above the city. The Décor of Zion took more than 2 months to create. A Team of 30 people worked on it full-time. Sadly though, all the ‘front ground’ decors were going to be destroyed. Because the costs were reaching an unknown amount, the Wachowski brothers had to find an alternative. That was Miniature Destruction: Simply Reduce the Real size a few times, take a micro camera and film the ‘Huge’ Towers and Walls being destroyed. In The Super Brawl and Club Hell Fighting scenes (anti Gravity Fighting), The Moves of the Actors are surely worth Some Choreography Awards. All the hundred and hundreds, super fast action moves are constructed by Tiger and his Brother, who are the Best Martial Arts Teachers in The World, flown over to America from China. The Moves are described to be so hard and Complicated, The Main Actors (neo, Trinity, Morpheus, Smith and Seraph) had to go trough an eight month training consisting of 7 hours a day. This part though was only for Revolutions, for part 1 and two the total training was almost two and a half year. Pretty much of course, but the Results are truly fantastic. I find The Movie Absolutely Fantastic, not only because I am one of the biggest fans in the whole school, but also because I and I think many others will agree with me, The Matrix is really a good movie. But of course, some will disagree. Usually those are the Movie Reviewers. Our Enemies! No… back to real world now: Criticists say that The Matrix Revolutions is a Big Flop. Not only because it contains no Bullet time, the Story is far too weak. It has No strength. In the Algemeen Dagblad I even read one said the people who worked to create this movie didn’t work hard enough; The result is really poor. I totally disagree, because first of all, this movie DOES contain Bullet Time, only it is the form of the Advanced CG effects, with even a better result than bullet time. Furthermore, about the story line, I find the story a little less complicated than the previous ones, but that doesn’t mean the story is Weak! In a way it is even better, because now I don’t need to spend several sleepless nights thinking about what was going on in the Movies. Then my Final disagreement, The People who worked on the matrix did a BIG effort, to get the movies like this. The money and Time spent on this movie is enormous, and broke all records in Hollywood’s movies! So how can the result be poor? Oh well, some people will simply never understand the Meaning of The Matrix, the efforts, Idea’s and Results. Anyway from my side, The Matrix will be always something I will remember for ever, It Truly is a Winner to me.
