“Before I die, I want to live properly.” That’s how Tessa starts her story. This 16 year old girl knows that her time is limited and decides to make a list with things she wants to do before she dies. She breaks through her ‘normal’ life of hospital visits, tests, medicines and spending all day in bed and does the things every teenage girl is curious about. Knowing that she’ll never be 17, Tessa isn’t afraid of experimenting with sex, drugs and criminal behaviour. Together with her best friend Zoey, she lives the last months of her short life as a rebel. After nights out and drunken behaviour, Tessa can already scratch some of things to do. She tells her neighbour and new friend Adam about her disease and her list, and soon enough she can also scratch the ‘boyfriend’ part. The last precious weeks are passing and Tessa is getting weaker and weaker. She sees herself as a dust, slowly fading. Until her light goes out.
