A tale of two cities door Charles Dickens

Dr. Manette was in prison for years, and everyone thought he was dead, but he wasn’t. When he got out of prison, he stayed at the house of Mr. Defarge, and there his daughter comes to visit him. Later in the book they all go to a trial of Charles Darnay. He is accused of being a spy. Lucie comes to testify that that isn’t true. At the end of the trial, the jury founds him: ‘Not Guilty’. He’s free to go. A person in a carriage, called Marquis Evrémonde, is driving really fast. He is in a great hurry, and in that hurry he kills a child. The father of that child is very angry about that accident, and held on, and rid under the carriage. He killed the Marquis when he slept. But, this man was caught, and hung on a gallows. The people were very angry about this, and stormed the Bastille. They freed all the prisoners. They also made new laws, for example: ‘Every member of the Marquis have to be killed.’, and Charles Darnay, was a nephew of the Marquis… Charles went to England, when his uncle was murdered, and there he met Lucie, whom he married. But when Charles came back to France he didn’t knew the new laws, and so he was brought to prison. The first time he was found ‘not guilty’, but the second time, he was sent to the guillotine. But his friend had a plan: Sydney Carton looked a lot like Charles, and therefore, he would go instead of Charles. Charles was put unconscious in a carriage, with his wife and daughter, and they drove away. The next day Sydney Carton was killed by the guillotine. Charles, Lucie, Lucie (junior), and there friends got away safely.
