This story is about a kind of teacher. He went to a school where the children stay for day and night. There he met a nice little girl, he liked her. Mrs. Grose accompanied the girl. The name of the little girl was Flora. There were some other children too, like Miles and Bly. There was happened something very strange. They were thinking that it was a storybook or a dream. It was going about an old house. A big ugly house. It was very strange story. Two days later he drove with Flora to meet the little gentleman, but the child dismissed the school. There was started to be some quarrels. At the end they thought somebody was gone. They said she was taken ill. Then they said that she was on a holiday, but he thought she was dead. He liked Mrs. Grose very much. He talked a lot with her. Everything was all right. The weeks were long. He taught his pupils and he liked it. Some day he saw somebody on a tower. It was a man. He thought it was a dream, but it was real. It was the morning little Flora concluded him. He felt very strange. He was thinking about all strange things that have happened to him. Like he had a kind of nightmare or it was real. He thought it might could be something with the ‘secret’ at Bly. Many days later there was something strange too. He locked himself, because he must think about things. These were strange things. He told his story to Mrs. Grose. She was scared. She became white, but why should she be scared? Mrs. Grose said to him: “Let me know what happened.” He was very frightened. He had seen a person behind the window. They were not for sure it was a man or a woman. He said it was the same person as he had seen on the tower. He said that the person was a horror. He described the person he had got red hair and has got sharp eyes. They thought it was Peter Quint. Mrs. Grose said Quint was dead. Mrs Grose asked what the man was doing behind the window. He said the man was looking for little Miles. They thought the person wanted to get little Miles. They thought Miles would know who the person was. After talking they came to the conclusion it was a female. They thought now that it was Miss Jessel. Now they thought Flora would know it. They were sure she came for a child. She fixed her eyes at the child. He said the person was in black and she looks poor. She was handsome. Mrs. Grose said Miss Jessel was infamous too. And they now where sure it was a lady. After all these happenings they wanted to get Miles from this school, because the woman came because of him. Bit it is uneasy to ‘kick out’ a child. He hasn’t done a thing. It wouldn’t be easy to find another school. At one night he was reading a book called ‘Amelia’. When he stopped reading he locked the door and went to bed. On the staircase the candle stopped burning. Then he knew that there was a figure on the stair. He spoke, but no answer was given. He thought it was Quint. It was a bit like the tower and the garden, where he saw someone too, there was no child now. When it was all over he felt bad then he went to bed. Then he saw that Flora’s bed was empty. He was looking and he saw that Flora was watching outside. He was thinking why she did and he was thinking about Quint. One night he went out of bed to watch if everything was all right. He saw that Flora was out of bed again. He went downstairs and went outside, because he saw a figure on the ground. The presence on the lawn was poor little Miles himself. He felt very bad when he saw it. 1.1
The next day he spoke about it with Mrs. Grose. They decided to ask Miles. He talked with Miles. Miles said: ”Think me for bad,” and he knew enough. Miles told that Flora was watching. Flora must disturb you when you woke up. Now he knew how come that Miles went outside at night. It was Quint’s work and that woman’s. They want to get them. Mrs. Grose said her uncle must help them. He must take them away. The strange things are passed now. They were happened about a month ago now. But in that time he had seen nothing. Nothing from Quint or Miss Jessel. That night on the stairs was the last thing. But he would know why these things have happened. Then he thought that Flora and Miles must know more that he does. At a certain morning he was walking the church with the kids and Mrs. Grose. At that way he talked with his uncle or something about all things that have happened and Miles was with them too. When they came at the graves. They were thinking something, but it isn’t clear what they thought. He had seen nothing strange for a month but once he had seen the spectre of the most horrible woman. But now he was able to straighten himself. He decided to write a letter to his uncle. His uncle must help them. He must take a child, but he didn’t write the letter. He was talking a lot with Miles. And Miles said that he must write a letter to his uncle and so he did. The next day Mrs. Grose asked it he had written a letter. He did, but he didn’t know, that the letter was in his pocket. One time he slept and when he woke up. He thought, where’s Flora, he asked Miles, but he didn’t know it. They went searching, but wherever Flora might be she wasn’t near home. They were thinking about the lake and they went to it. They thought that she was not alone, but with someone else, like Quint for example. They walked all around the lake. Then they found Flora. She smiled and smiled. On a morning Mrs. Grose came to his bed and said that Flora was very very sick. She had a fever. It was certainly because all things that have happened. They were thinking about bringing Flora to her uncle. And she wanted to go away too. At one day Miles told the whole story, he knew a lot about it, but then he said he wouldn’t tell it. He would tell it some other time. When he told the story he said it was Peter Quint who has done all things that have happened. He said too that he burned all the letters, which they had written. He stealth them. At the end the figure returned again and it indeed was Peter Quint. 1.2

I think that the book that I have read, ‘the turn of the screw’. Is not a very nice book. Because the book is not very easy to read. The sentences are very long and there are a lot of difficult words in it. And I don’t like that. I think it is very difficult too, because there are very strange punctuation marks in it. There is a stripe, then there is al little piece of text and then there is another stripe, but sometimes the last stripe is missing and then I don’t know how it goes farther. I think the story is quite difficult and I don’t like that. Something positive of the book is the theme is something that I like. I like books, which are a little bit exited and scary. The theme of this book is horror or thriller. This is a quite scary book, because there are figures in the book that are very scary to the principal figure and the other figures in the book. And because of these things it is exited too. It is exited because you would know what the scary figures would like to do and why they do it. But that wasn’t very clear to me, so that’s a little bit negative. I don’t know the exactly name of the principal figure in the book, because they don’t describe the principal figure in the book. The story is written from the thoughts of the principal figure. The names of the other figures do l know. In the story they talk about three children, which are pupils: Flora, Miles and Bly. Flora is a girl and she is a little bit a problem child in this book. She goes through with the scary things. She must even go away because of it. Miles is a boy and the conclusion of the story comes from him. He is a quite naughty, because he stealth the letters to burn it. Bly is a boy and he is the less important kid. Mrs. Grose is taking care for the children. She helps the principal figure too. For example helping to search Flora when she was gone. Peter Quint is the opponent of the principal figure, Mrs. Grose and the children, because he is the scary figure in the story and they don’t like him. They are talking about Miss Jessel too. They thought she could be the scary person, but she wasn’t. I don’t exactly know what the title (The turn of the screw) of the book means. I think it means that they mean the scary figure with the screw, and that he comes back at a certain moment. I don’t want to read another book from Henry James, because l don’t like it how he writes. I think that It’s very difficult, with these crazy punctuation marks. Maybe I would read another scary book, but I’m not for sure.

hey ,
