Brain May and tim Staffel ( both students ) began in 1968 a little schoolband. They needed a drummer and placed an advertisement. Roger taylor was the lucky one. So the band "Smile" was born. After a few months they've got a contract with Mercury Records. In 1970 "Smile" stopped playing because it didn't go verry well. Tim Staffel left the group and Freddie Bulsara joined the group, this was the beginning off queen . Freddie Bulsara changed his name officialy in Freddie Mercury;
Queen asked John deacon to join the group as bassplayer. With the four of them, they've made 20 albums. Freddie won two times the novello award : the first time for the song 'Killer Queen' and the second time for the song 'Bohemian Rapsodie' The group won also the Novello award for their extremely contribution to Britisch music. Freddie Mercury died from aids on November 27 1991. Made in Heaven was their last album.
