The use of computers

The use of computers in our school is minimum. We don’t have computers in our classroom, ONLY in the mediatheek.
We don’t use them a lot for schoolwork, ONLY to make a report for English, German, or Dutch.
If we use one of the computers at school, they ask for a password and we don’t know it!
I think it is very stupid, because if you want to use a computer and they ask for a password you don’t know you can’t use the computer!
When I am at home, I use the computer very often to surf on the internet or to make an essay for school.
You can use the computer for many things, for example: homework, surfing on the internet, to play games or for a communication on the internet with friends (MSN).
- The good points of computers:

- You can surf on the internet, where a lot of information is.
- They are more flexible than a textbook.
- The computer is your dictionary when you write a letter/ essay, it corrects your spelling.
- You can have contact with the whole world.
- The computers have a very BIG memory.
- You can stock many thinks.

- The bad points of computers:

- Less personal contact.
- Computer defect? = you’ll lose all your information!
- If you use the computer very long, you can have ache in your wrist or in your Arm.(RSI).
- It is bad for your eyes if you watch at the computer screen too long.

- Comparisons; between my school and the schools in Britain are:
- The Britisch schools use the computer very often to do homework, or work at
school.
- The teacher is no longer the fount of ledge know, instead the teacher is helping pupils
to learn for themselves.
- there’ s a correspondence talking place between one class and school in Norway
about whaling should continue.
- The school in Britain is a girls-ONLY school.

My own opinion:

Well I am glad, that there are computers; so I can easy make an essay or a report. It is flexible and fast, tidy and easy.
And if I make a script and I don’t have a lot of information, then I can surf on the internet for more information!
