My journey through the tropical rainforest: (fiction)

When I was flying back from Australia to The Netherlands, our plane crashed into the tropical rainforest of Borneo.
My little brother and I were the only survivors of the crash, we wanted to get out of the wreck and find people. Just before the plane hit the ground, I saw a river, it was around 18 kilometres away from were the plane had come to stop, my brother and I decided to walk towards the river because rainforest people also live near the river. We thought that 18 kilometres wasn’t that much, but you can’t run in the tropical rainforest and it is really hot. We decided to walk at a steady speed. After around 1 and a half kilometres my brother yelled because he found a bird-eating spider, but I knew that you can eat them, so I smashed it with a rock and then we ate it. We were getting really thirsty, but we didn’t really have anything to drink at all, so we decided to speed up a little bit. When we had walked around 5 kilometres I saw a jaguar, so my brother and I ran and screamed as hard as we could, in the hope that the jaguar would get scared and run away… And it did! We decided to take a rest when we had walked 10 kilometres, we slept for 3 hours and then we walked and we found a cassava, a flower which you can eat, we divided it into 2 pieces and ate it, it gave the feeling like I was eating carrot. We decided to walk/run as fast as we could until we found the river, and we did, we ran and ran and ran… When we had finally reached the river I drank like 2 litres of water. We only had to walk 1 kilometre down the river to find people, which meant we were safe.
