2. Waarom heb ik dit onderwerp gekozen?
Ik heb dit onderwerp gekozen omdat ik vorig jaar in de meivakantie 2 weken naar Miami ben geweest. Ik vond het toen zo leuk dat ik er graag nu iets over wil vertellen.

3. Samenvatting in het Nederlands.
In Januari is de gemiddelde 19,6 graden, en in Juli is dat 28,1 graden. Miami ligt in het zuiden van Florida. Het ligt tussen de Everglades en de Atlantische oceaan. Het is een subtropisch gebied waar de temperaturen het hele jaar best hoog zijn. Onder de 15 graden temperatuur kom je daar niet vaak voor. De gevoelstemperatuur is in Miami 's zomers heel hoog, waarbij het lijkt dat het boven de veertig graden is. In werkelijkheid komt de temperatuur niet vaak boven de 34 graden uit. Dit komt door de hoge luchtvochtigheidsgraad die in de subtropen heerst. De hoogste temperatuur die ooit in Miami gemeten is 98 F makkelijker gezegd 36,7 °C. Van maart tot en met eind november ligt de gemiddelde nachttemperatuur op of boven 20 graden. De maximum nachttemperatuur komt bijna nooit onder de 20 graden. Af en toe gebeurt dit, maar dan wordt het niet veel kouder dan 18 graden. Zo’n ‘koude’ nacht duurt meestal 2 dagen. Er zijn twee soorten seizoenen in Miami, een regenseizoen en een droogseizoen. Het regenseizoen loopt van mei tot oktober, en het droge seizoen van november tot april. Het regenseizoen valt samen met het orkaanseizoen van de Atlantische Oceaan, wat loopt van 1 juni tot 1 december. In het regenseizoen regent het niet de hele dag. Maar als het regent kan in zo'n regenbui evenveel water vallen als in een maand in Nederland! Miami word regelmatig getroffen door zware stormen en orkanen. Als er zo’n orkaan of storm komt dan zijn er openbare schuilkelders waar de bewoners zich in schuil kunnen houden. Miami telt ongeveer 400.000 inwoners. 50% van de inwoners is Latino of Hispanic, ze komen het meeste uit Cuba en Mexico. 22% van de bevolking is Afro-Amerikaans of zwart. En 22% van de bevolking is blank. 2% van de bevolking is Aziatisch. 20% van de bevolking is ouder dan 65 jaar, en 30% van de bevolking is alleenstaand. Weer 25% van de bevolking leeft onder de armoedegrens. 8% van de bevolking is werkloos.

5. Mening.
Deze tekst vind ik heel interessant vooral omdat ik er zelf ben geweest. De tekst is heel leerzaam. Mensen die voor de eerste keer naar Miami gaan en graag iets meer willen weten over Miami zullen in deze tekst veel goede informatie vinden. Alles is ook heel duidelijk er staan niet al te moeilijke woorden in. In ieder geval voor volwassenen is het redelijk te lezen, ik ben nog maar 14 en ik vond het redelijk makkelijk.
