Dear Sir / Madam,

I spent the first two weeks of August at Shurland Caravan Park. The stay was a great disappointment for me and my family. This was mainly because the advertisement in the magazine Kent contained a number of falsehoods.

When we arrived at the camp site there was nobody to welcome us or to give us some information. We saw a man, a kind of handyman, who did not know anything at all. We had to wait two hours until a lady arrived who gave us the keys of an ordinary caravan. However, we rented a static caravan in advance.

We had to pay £ 100 before we could go into the static caravan. I strongly object to this and I resent the attitude of the management.

The advertisement said there was a site shop, which was true but it was always closed. Every morning I had to go to Minster to buy bread and groceries. It was impossible to complain about this because there was no management on site the whole day.

What did you mean by ‘flush toilets’? I looked for them in vain. Each time I had to walk 200 meters to the toilets on the camping site, which were far from clean.

I deeply regret our decision to spend our holiday at Shurland Caravan Park. I want you to return the £ 100 which you forced me to pay. Also I want the half of the amount back that I had to pay in advance. If you do not react with in two weeks I will inform our legal expenses insurance.
