Todd is fascinated with the Holocaust. After his history class briefly studies that period, he sets out on his own to find out more about that terrible time in history. He spends hours researching the atrocities. Then, one day on a bus, he sees a man who looks familiar, and he suddenly realizes he's looking at Dussander, a notorious Nazi wanted for crimes against humanity.
He confronts the old man and threatens to expose him unless he will tell the boy everything he can about the war, what he did, how he killed, and how he felt while he killed. Their relationship becomes more complex as they slowly grow to each other, but also in a very violent way… Todd starts to develop feelings of hate, the pressure to kill living beings, in fact mister Dussander reflects his Nazi-feelings to him. Todd wants to escape, but his passion for the stories stands between him and a normal youth.

I thought the movie was very shocking, I first thought mister Dussander was a really nice man, who had a terrible history. But meanwhile thinking that, he starts to do terrible things, and he turns again in a violent Nazi-murderer. Todd scared me too, he gave the impression of being a nice guy. Apparently not, I concluded.
It shocked me how a boy can evolve in a murderer so quickly by listening to stories of the World War. There were some elements I don’t believe in, like how Todd recognizes Dussander, and how he threatens him. And how the old man, the victim of Dussander, recognises him too after all those years… The movie really moved me, but not in the way it supposed too, I guess. I just had to do with the poor cat and pigeon. That’s all…
