There are a lot differences between Holland and England. Every country has his own customs about food and drinks.
In England they eat in the morning a traditional breakfast;
· Eggs
· Bacon
· Sausage
· Toast
· Agarics
· Tomato’s

Dutch people are always in a hurry, they often forget to eat their breakfast. Or they simply do not have any time to eat.

A contrast is the lunch in Holland. The Dutch-people eat a lot more than the English-people.
In Holland they often eat bread, with some meat or cheese or something like peanut-butter. Then they drink milk or juice. They sometimes eat a hot meal like soup, so they can eat bread at dinner. In

England they eat not so much because of their heavy breakfast.

English-people do have about 4 o’clock their famous “tea-time”.
Then they drink tea, and eat something like cake or a cookie.

Than the dinner.
Every region in England has his own speciality to.

By example;
London is well-known about their shell-fish,
in Wales they make a lot of cheese with welshcakes, seatrout, oats and bacon.
In Schotland they eat a lot of salmon, white grouse and of course haggis.
Haggis are grind leavings off a slaught in a sort of gruel.

Welshcake

But when you say “England”, the people will say “Fish and Chips”.
It’s the most favourite dish of the British people.
Cod or pollack are the traditional fish, but they also use sole, flounder, or whitefish fillets.
The chips are crispy and tasteful.
The ingredients are:
· 1/2 cup flour
· 1/2 cup cornmeal
· 4 - 6 ounces ale
· 1/4 teaspoon salt
· 4 cups vegetable oil for frying
· 4 large russet potatoes
· 2 pounds fish fillets, cut in half, crosswise
They serve the fish and chips in a newspaper.
When you are in England you can’t go home before you have ate fish and chips.

Fish and chips

In Holland they eat a lot of potatoes. Every dinner they it with vegetables and some meat. There are a lot prescription’s about the meals you can create.
By example:

· Hutspot:
It’s made of potatoes and carrots.
· Boerenkool stamppot:
Cabbage and potatoes again. They often eat it with a smoked sausage, called “Rookworst”.

They also have their traditional products, like drop, chocolate hail, cheese, gin, and a small candy made of butter.

Cheese

In the evening, a lot of English-people are going to the pub.
There they meet their friends, family or colleague’s.
They drink English, famous, dark, beer. The pubs are close at 11 o’clock every evening.

After the Dutch-people have worked they mostly go home to be there with their family’s.
In Holland the most people go out to the pub only in the weekend. The youth goes out then to a disco or even to a pub.

An English pub

They drink a lot of beer, cocktails and strong drinks.
A lot of accidents in Holland and in England become off drinking to much alcohol.
So the people are everywhere the same, about drinking en and driving.

In the country’s are a lot of advertisement to stimulate the people to drive not when you have been drinking alcohol.

The age you can drink beer is sixteen, and you have to be eighteen when you can drink cocktails and strong drinks.
In England you have to be sixteen, then you can drink everything you want.
