Buffy the vampire Slayer is a tv show that begun in 1997 and recently aired it´s final episode May,2003 last year.
The show has become very popular during the seven years they´ve been on television. There has been 7 seasons with each 22 episodes except for the first season,that one counts just 12 episodes because they wanted to see if the show was worth it to make more episodes.
The show is about a girl named Buffy Summers, she looks like an ordinairy schoolgirl at day but at night she´s dusting vampires in the graveyards around Sunnydale. The show is full of demon-slaying action but don´t forget lots of sarcastic humor and a package of mixed drama and some romance. Put it all together and you´ll get a nice 45 minutes to see how Buffy manages her school and social life and not to forget her big slayer secret, together with her best friends Xander and Willow. Sarah Michelle Gellar has the lead-role in the show. She plays Buffy Summers, the vampire Slayer. For every generation there is a Slayer. They need to destroy all vampires with their super strength and fighting ability. It´s not only vampires they have to annihilate,they also have to time-out demons,monsters and just about every other kind of nasty that can come to mind. Every slayer has a watcher who trains and looks out for their slayer.
In 1997 Buffy Summers moved from LA to Sunnydale with her mother Joyce to get her away from her previous school in LA after her parents divorced. When she moves to Sunnydale she´s only 16 years old. She goes to school on Sunnydale High and became close friends with Willow and Xander which by the way also know about her slayersecret. Her watcher Giles, is besides that also the school librarian.Buffy's slaying days had just begun in 1997 when she found out from her new Watcher, Giles, that Sunnydale was actually located atop a Hellmouth, a portal to an evil dimension replete with Vampires, demons and other ultra-nasty types.Buffy fights evil for like 7 years in a row now and has grown as a person but also as a slayer in her strength and skills. She died two times but got also resureccted twice by xander and willow. Buffy´s lovelife is very complicated. When she was 16 she fell in love with a vampire with a soul named Angel. They were like soulmates untill he broke up with her. She had another boyfriend when she was in college,his name was Riley but he had to leave her too because of his difficult circumstances. He´s sort of a soldier who fights demons too but he thought that Buffy didn´t love him enough to be with him. And than there was Spike. They started as enemys and they ended as lovers. But than broke up again.But this time it was Buffy who broke up with him because she felt like she´s using him and it was killing her. Spike happens to be a vampire too. Not with a soul ,altough he did got his soul back in the seventh and last season,to proove his love to her. They still have feelings for eachother but in the final episode of the show spike had to risk his life and save the world from ending. Buffy was devistated,but also proud that Spike really showed that he wasn´t just a vampire with a soul. He showed that he really cared for her. Buffy worked in a fastfood restaurant called the Doublemeat Palace but than quit and now works as a guidance counceler at her little sister´s school the renewed Sunnydale High which was destroyed by a huge worm demon in the end of season three. Unfortunetly whole Sunnydale has been destroyed and sucked into the ground in the final episode when Buffy defeats The First Evil. (an incoporeal evil thing)
Buffy has had quite a traumatic six years: she's lost her soul mate Angel, as well as her mother, discovered that her sister Dawn wasn't actually her sister, dealt with the strain of paying the bills on minimum wage, and become involved and broken up with her former archenemy, Spike. More recently, she watched her best friend Willow nearly destroy the world, but with help from Dawn, Buffy and the rest of the gang managed to come out on top.

Willow Rosenberg(Alysson Hannigan),Buffy and Xander´s best friend. Willow has been kind of a computer nerd since high school.She started witchcraft when she was 17 and she became so interested she went from schoolnerd to powerfull witch. In the sixth season she almost destroyed the world but Xander talked her out of it by saying he loves her. Willow turned lesbian during college and had a cute girlfriend named Tara. Unfortunately Tara was shot by a enemy from buffy which happens to be a normal person and not a demon. His name was Warren. He accidentally shot with his gun in the air and the bullet went right true Willow´s window in Tara´s heart. Willow was standing in front of her and Tara died in her arms. Because of that terrible loss she turned into an evil witch and killed Warren out of revenge. When she turned normal again she went with Giles to England for a while to learn about witchcraft and what´s connected with the earth and what not etc. Willow has always been the funny kinda nerdy but supportive one on the show and has been part of the show since the beginning.Willow still goes to college and is 21 years old in the show.


Xander Harris(Nicholad Brendon) is known for his loyalty. Always the sarcastic but caring one. The one with no super strength like the slayer,the witch or the demon but he did had a special thing: charm.
He always knows how to make it up to you when you´re down or sad. Xander has been by the scooby gang (as they call it) since the beginning, he learned to fight a little during the 7 years but in the seventh season his left eye was couched out by a demon that looked like a priest named Caleb. He is now blind on his left eye but he learned to live with it. Buffy though feels very guilty about is because it was her idea to go to Caleb with the rest of the group. Xander almost married his ex- girlfriend Anya the vengeance-demon. But he stood her up at the altar because he had doubts about their relationship but appearently he realized it too late.Since that day Anya and him are like mortal enemies but in the final season they kinda got back together so they´re still have a weakness for eachother. Xander is in the show (season 7) 22 years old and he´s working at school. (untill it got destroyed)

Dawn Summers (Michelle Trachtenberg) is Buffy´s little sister. She is also known as the Key because she wasn´t really her real sister. In season five `the big bad`was a hellgoddess named Glory and wanted to open hell in the world by some kind of electric field but she needed the blood of `the key`but she didn´t knew who it was. Buffy didn´t knew either. A long time ago some monks made Dawn out of an ball energy and placed Dawn in Buffy´s life so it looked like she had always been there but in fact she started playing as dawn since season 4. Buffy died at the end of that season because she didn´t want Dawn to risk her life so Buffy jumped into the electric field to stop Glory´s plan (it needed Summers blood) but was resurrected later by Willow and her spells. After Glory was defeated by Buffy,Dawn became `real`and was just part of the scooby gang like it has always been. Dawn is in season 7 sixteen years old and goes to Sunnydale High. In season 7 buffy is 22 years old. Buffy and Dawns mother died in season 4 ´cause of a braintumor. Buffy needed to find a job very quikly because she was in control now of the house and needed to pay the bills. She got help from her friends and from Giles. Dawn is a smart young woman who looks up to her sister Buffy and wants to be just like her. Sometimes she feels neglected because she thinks everyone´s only paying attention to her sister and not to her. Xander told her she isn´t special,but she´s extriordinairy.


Spike(James Marsters) is a vampire. He was born in 1880 and his originally name was William but later when he turned into a vampire he named himself Spike because he used spikes to torture his victims. Spike got syred by Drusilla,his formal girlfriend which he staked in season 6 because he fell in love with buffy and she didn´t believed it. Spike and Buffy were very close together in season 6 and 7. They seem to be kinda connected with eachother though Buffy sometimes don´t want to admit that. Spike has a english accent because he was born and raised in England. During his vampire years he caused mayor mayhem trouble and chaos but when he got his soul back at the end of season 6 he turned into `a good vampire`and sometimes helps Buffy and the gang with slaying demons. Spike is known for his charmes and knows how to seduse someone. In his past he killed two slayers but luckily never Buffy.



Anya(Emma Caulfield) is a vengeance demon. Which means that she fullfilles the wishes of angry women who want to get back at their ex´s. She can turn them into a giant worm or make them spineless for example. When she started dating Xander in the beginning of season 4 she cut back with her demon activities. Her ´demonboss`named D´Hoffryn got mad at her and later in season 7 `fired`her as a demon so she became full human. Anya is very sarcastic just like Xander that´s why they could make such a good couple. Unfortunatly that didn´t really worked out. Anya´s past isn´t really shown in the show so there´s not much information about her. We do know that she´s more than a 1000 years old and she loves money.

Rupert Giles (Anthony Steward-Head) is Buffy´s watcher. He´s a little aged but he´s a good fighter and knows a lot about demons,slayers and that sort of things. He´s very patient and is 100% Brittain and you can hear that too at his british accent. Buffy decided she didn´t wanted to have a watcher anymore in season 7. Buffy and Giles argue a lot with eachoter about freedom,slaying demons and how to be carefull and somehow Buffy always seems to win the battle. Giles is just looking out for the best for her and he´s trying real hard to help her in her job. But when she got older she didn´t wanted any help no more. That´s why Giles left sunnydale in season 5 and moved to england. He did came back later in season 6 and 7 but just to help,he loves Buffy and the gang very much

Buffy the Vampire Slayer started out as a movie directed by Fran Rubel Kuzui and starring Kirsty Swanson as Buffy Summers and Donald Sutherland as her Watcher Merrick. However the film didn't do so well and was actually a bit of a flop. But Joss Whedon managed to persuade the higher people to make the create a TV series based in the movie. And he did, and it's now one of the most successful sci-fi/fantasy tv shows ever made.
The tv-show is made by Joss Whedon and is co-written by Marti Noxon.
